TarHeelRavenParticipantThat’s about as blunt as you can possibly get. Perkins was a perfect fit in Boston on that 2008 Celtics title team. After he moved to OKC, he became such an offensive liability and his numbers have plummeted. I can’t believe he is only averaging 2.9 and 3.6 in 18 minutes. That’s absolutely atrocious for a guy making 8.7 mil this year. I think it’s about time OKC cut ties with Perk and gave Steven Adamds the starting Center job.

3 No Biases 3ParticipantHe was a good fit for Boston mainly because they hid him amongst 4 all stars…
I’ll give him credit as being a good post defender but that is all…I remember Rondo whipping great passes to him down low and he always fumbled the damn ball or lost it on the way up. Rondo would’ve averaged 3 more assists a game if it wasn’t for Perk’…..I f***ing hated watching him and I still do, I agree with the post! lol
OKC definitely needs to rid themselves of his salary, but who else takes him? He doesn’t bring much to the table.

Gustavo FringParticipantDo you think you could get back a #2 and large coke in a trade with him?

DolanCareParticipantI feel bad for OKC fans. Their owner was too cheap to keep Harden, too cheap to amnesty Perkins.

qDizzle32ParticipantPerkins was a key player for the 2008 Celtics Championship Squad but it was amazing how fast he went down hill after he was traded to OKC. Was pretty surprised that he didn’t get amnestied both of the last two offseasons. The Thunder could have definitely gotten something better than Perkins after giving up Jeff Green.

WolfRobParticipantI feel like because they are in a small market like okc, the owners don’t wanna pay someone for not playing (amnesty)

DolanCareParticipantI don’t care how small market of a team you are. When you’re playing for a chip, you amnesty those with horrendous contracts who don’t produce. Perkins is the definition of this criteria.
I’m just someone who believes that a team owner has responsibility to the fans since they are the ones who generate the revenue.

capecodderParticipantOKC also gave up Kristic and a #1 and received Nate Robinson
The Celtics parlayed that pick into Fab Melo whose basketball IQ is about as low as the combination of Perk’s PPG and Rpg stats and who made Perk look like Dwight Howard in comparison

KayjayParticipantThe Kings will take him, 8.7 mill a year is bad, but we’d trade a decent post defender for Jason thompson any day. Good god.

JordoParticipantits funny when I hear analyist or announcers try to defend perkins by saying "oh he brings toughness" for what he’s making its inexcusable for him to be a 7 foot scarecrow.

HitsterParticipantIf they had amnestied him they could have perhaps manouvered to keep Harden and got a veteran big or two in on veteran’s minimum (which is partly subsidised) to basically rebound and defend.

RUDEBOY_ParticipantLoL…In some cases losing weight can increase a player’s performance….Perkins has never been known as a guy you run plays threw,he’s never been a player that was a great rebounder or block shots…….But with Perkins losing that extra girth ,he no longer can throw his weight around being that inside enforcer…To do things like setting mean picks and clogging the lane…
