hbomb3300ParticipantEveryone is talking about the top of the draft, with good reason, but I think this draft is not only strong at the top but deep as well. I would bet that at least a couple late 1st to 2nd round picks will become starters eventually in their careers. Who would everyone bet on among the players projected to go later in the draft?
I’m going to go with Elfrid Payton… he has everything you look for in a point guard, but with so many quality point guard options before him I think he will fall in the draft to the late first round area where he could develop under a quality organization.

Tongue-Out-Like-23ParticipantBetting that at least a couple of 2nd rounders will become starters isn’t exactly bold. Even in the weakest of drafts do at least a couple of 2nd rounders become starters.
But we know what you mean lol
I think Mitch McGary could be that kind of player. Not sure if he’ll come out this season but I think he can be what Udonis Haslem was in his prime.

Ty BenjaminsParticipantI think as the season goes on and after the combine Elfrid will end up in the lottery

hbomb3300ParticipantIt’s possible… but there is already a lot of high quality point guards ahead of him and there aren’t many teams in serious need of a point guard right now… which is why I think he will fall into the 20s.

RUDEBOY_ParticipantI would be surprised if McGary lasts until the 2nd round..If he stays healthy, his ability to rebound the ball, size, intangibles, work ethic and high energy ,any coach would love to add him to their roster…
Delon Wright a jr. from Utah,Dorell’s younger brother might be a 2nd round surprise..
Illimane Diop,Alessandro Gentille,Jerian Grant,Nick Johnson,Ron Baker & Rasmus Larsen are some guys i think could be surprises…

Jester87ParticipantKendall Williams is listed as an early second round pick here and he doesn’t even make the top 60 in many boards I see on the internet, but he is a guy with intriguing skills, great size for his position and decent athleticism and might end up being a nice surprise as a second rounder.
