HaleParticipantHad a monster game today: 31 points (12-15 shooting) 19 rebounds 6 steals and 2 blocks.
He might not be Anthony Davis, but he’s a damn good player and it seems like people have forgotten about him a little bit. He’s only 20 years old and is averaging 13.1 ppg 12.2 rpg and leading the NBA at 65.2% from the floor in a fronctocurt that features both Greg monroe and Josh Smith. Loving this guys progression as a player and think Detroit got a huge steal.

XYRYXParticipantDrummond really is a beast and is posting great numbers right now but like another poster said already in another topic his free throw shooting is absolutely shockingly bad. He only takes 2.2 per game which is very little since he is a true banger down low and only making 0.6 from the line this year what is a mere .286!!!
I don’t remember anyone shooting the ball worse from the line ever. This is not only unacceptable for any player in any league but this might have a bigger effect on his development than anything else. To be the league leader in fg% with .636 and by far the worst free throw shooter at the same time really concernes me. It’s not like he is somewhere near .500 and this is only a thing of time to lift it in the .6+ numbers.
This whole thing doesn’t take away his immense potential, physical ability, mobility and his B-Ball IQ on the defensive end but might be holding him back forever.

benny15ParticipantAndris Biedrins shot worse than that for the 09"-10" and 11"-12" seasons. im sure other warrior fans like me will not know a worse free throw shooter

Wahoo757ParticipantLooks like most of us were right saying he should’ve been drafted. Just crazy combo of size and athleticism.

ItsVictorOladipoParticipantYeah it’s weird. One of the knocks against Drummond going into the draft was his production at UConn but most ppl on this board actually came close to predicting his exact stats before the year had even started.
I think I was one of the few whose expectations at UConn were too high (I think I said something like 14 PPG, 10 RPG, 2.5 BPG). Most of the guys on here responded to my post by pointing out that the Big East usually has a bit more of a learning curve for big men and that it’s more of a physical conference than some others. Most of the posters on here predicted around 10 PPG, 8 RPG and 2 BPG which would end up being spot on.
So here was a guy that was ranked #1 or #2 in practically every publication about HS basketball. Went to university and lived up to most realistic expectations. Then had measurements that were elite at the combine (6-11 in shoes, 279 lbs with a 7.5 body fat% which was lower than the 222 lb Anthony Davis and a wingspan of 7-6.25). Not to mention that he plays a position usually overvalued at the draft. It’s bizarre that he dropped out of the top 4.

theTKOshowParticipantNew Orleans took river at the 10 spot, 1 spot after drummond got taken. I remember there were alot of rumours about golden state and toronto potentially moving their picks, i wonder how much it wouldve cost them to move the 2-3 spots needed to get their hands on drummond. drummond and davis combo would probably the best size and athleticism combo ever. both are really raw but could work with drummond being only effective around the rim and davis being more effective in that mid range

HitsterParticipantDrummond has really come on this year and is perhaps ahead of other young bigs drafted a year or two before him such as Kanter and Favours. He’s nailed the starters spot already in his second season and looks to be a great draft steal for the Pistons.
