Is anybody else just always dissapointed when they see Isaiah Austin play? I was extremley high on him coming out of high school but he just continues to disappoint me everytime I watch. Like right now he’s 0-6 with 0 Rebounds and 1 Assist in 8 minutes and just looks like an average player at times at Baylor

Disappointed? No, because I always thought that his frame was horrible for an NBA player.

He needs another year, for his sake a healthy one where he can at least try to put on more weight and strength.  He’s so weak and flimsy that I feel sorry for him.

Frame is small I get it, but more importantly he is mentally weak and lacks the toughness to make it in the NBA.

He could try harder to hold his position or play tougher and he’d still get tossed around like a ragdoll and have trouble finishing.

Despite his extremely lanky frame, he played like he was invisible. He wasn’t really strong enough to box out/get position for rebounds, he can’t post up against most bigs (even ones much smaller than he is), and he likes to hang out on the perimeter despite being 7 feet tall. I dunno, he needs to gain strength and assertiveness before he can take it to the next level, if he does at all.

Out of all the exciting prospects from Baylor, Ekpe Udoh’s been the best pro so far. Might be different five years from now, but it’s still weird looking at who played there recently.

I hoped he’d be a 3 pt shooting Kareem, but who doesn’t hope to see greatness? I’d draft him at earliest late first to be a rotation 3 pt shooter but definitely 2nd round.

He’s only taken two 3’s this yr and he missed both.  I don’t know what he’s doing. Maybe he’s just listening to his coach, but being a stretch 4 is like his only hope for relative success in the NBA.

I really expected him to show up 20 good pounds heavier, but I was really surprised to see him at a similar weight as last year. He’s played poorly too. If he was even 235 lbs and averaged 15/10 people would be forced to look at him in the 20s, but his start makes him look like a 2nd rounder right now.

Again Baylor and a tall prospect…. yesterday he was Perry Jones, today  Austin. Both, long, talented (PJ III very talented), skinny… without a role in the League. My impression is that both lack "motor" and Austin has learned nothing of how a 7 foot should play. It’s a pity… may be Baylor’s coaching team has some blame for these failures…

Im a big Austin supporter and even I can say hes been a big disapointment this year…

However everybody has failed to mention that hes coming off of shoulder surgery that has limited his ability to gain upper body strength and hes still clearly working his way back into shape.

Austin is still averaging over 4 blocks a game which is a skill in extreme high demand right now combined with his ability to spread the floor with his shooting.  Yes I know hes shooting bad this season but this is a skill that we know he has.

Ultimatly I still believe he has too much size and skill to not find a niche in the league and will become a.Jon Henson type prospect.

I think you might understand why we didn’t agree with your "Austin as the next LA/#1 pick" praise now.
