valentinewhy is dionte christmas a second rounder??? I dont get it he’s a great player should aleast be a late first rounder… alot of teams are missing a opportunity to draft dangerous shooter like this guy and all the teams in the late first rounder need a second shooter like him teams like the kings, okc, bulls, wolves, grizziles, and cavaliers to have somebody else to worry about like christmas
HERE IS A VIDEO OF HIM
object width=”425″ height=”344″>You think He a second round pick now?!?! What Do You Think???

gatorheelsParticipantThat was just one game. The reality is Christmas isn’t a great athlete and he takes bad shots. Plus the competition he faced in college for the most part was WEAK.

apb540ParticipantI got to watch a handfull of Temple games since I live outside of Philly and this dude brings a lot to the table. He has range past the NBA 3pt line, he has great size and is lengthy, he is a winner, he is a very underrated defender, and he has a high release on his shot which, combined with his size, makes it difficult to defend. I think a team in the late first will take a chance on him and I pray that my Sixers trade into a spot to select him.

dolla33he would be a nice fit for the sixers i just want him to go a team that they have use for him instead of wasting his talent you know

dolla33But Most Of the bad shots goes In… So I wont call Those Bad Shots But you Right some of the competion he had was weak.. but this competition was number 4 tennesse and He Drop 35 Points…
He Not A Second round pick Late first Rounder0 - Posted on: Thu, 06/18/2009 - 7:46am #167318

gatorheelsParticipantHe is a second round pick I promise you. Meeks, McClinton, Taylor, McNeal, Thornton, Ellington, Budinger are all shooting guards that just so happen to shoot the ball better than Christmas. No way he goes 1st round. If the 76ers want hm they can get him in the middle of the second round.

dolla33draft in 7 days we will see late first rounder and if not he will be a high second rounder

gatorheelsParticipant41%FG & 35%3pt against weak competition equals a mid second round pick. Ha just being honest. There are just too many athletes and better shooters ahead of Christmas.
0 - Posted on: Thu, 06/18/2009 - 7:59am #167327

gatorheelsParticipantBy the way I saw Tennesee play in person several times last year. They are one of the worst defensive teams I have ever seen. I have also played against Scotty Hopson before…..who just so happened to be guarding Christmas for most of that game…..Hopsons defense is pure garbage
0 - Posted on: Thu, 06/18/2009 - 8:06am #167331
dolla33alright that true but most of those so call better shooters are most likely are not going to be like that in the nba dionte christmas was shooting nba range the shooter you was talking about was shooting college but i respect your opinion but he not in the mid second round late first rounder or early second
0 - Posted on: Thu, 06/18/2009 - 8:56am #167369

gatorheelsParticipantIF Christmas shoots 35% from the college 3pt line then he is going to shoot even worse than that in the pros. That is not a good percentage especially for a shooting guard.

D HampParticipantBecause he never did anything. Many people who heard of him right before the NCAA tournament and his team didn’t even get into the round of 65. What is the big deal about this dude. To me, he’s not that good. I guarantee he won’t be drafted.
Dhamp….you know the name
0 - Posted on: Thu, 06/18/2009 - 9:03am #167384
dolla33woah yes he will be drafted what are you talking about???????/
0 - Posted on: Thu, 06/18/2009 - 9:08am #167392

apb540ParticipantYea he definitely will be drafted.
0 - Posted on: Thu, 06/18/2009 - 9:11am #167395
j1232eParticipantHe will be drafted. Needs to improve his game in the dleague. He will make a little noise in like 3-4 years.

xbadgerhustlerParticipantahhhhh, so you’re just a huge christmas fan….that is an impressive video, i’ll give you that…
i think the lesson to learn is JJ REDICK n ADAM MORRISON did that every game in the NCAAs, look at how they turned out.
Put Trevor Ariza on Christmas and he’s shooting 25% and turning the ball over once every 3 times down the floor… this is the NBA we’re talking about. like 95% of SGs in the NBA would go off like Christmas did in that game EVERY GAME if they were playing colllege competition.
0- Posted on: Thu, 06/18/2009 - 9:31am #167431
dolla33y would tevor ariza be guarding christmas when he is a SF dionte is a SG

j1232eParticipantI have por. selecting him at 38.
0 - Posted on: Thu, 06/18/2009 - 9:17am #167405
dolla33bs he not going to the dleague what are you talking about all i ask was y would he be a second round pick y not a late first round pick
0 - Posted on: Thu, 06/18/2009 - 9:20am #167409
j1232eParticipantof rookies play in the dleague their first year because many of them are not ready for the nba. Would you rather have him sit behind an nba bench in a suit and tie or try to develope and get playing time in the dleague.
0 - Posted on: Thu, 06/18/2009 - 9:22am #167411

gatorheelsParticipantI’m telling you Hopson was guarding Christmas for the majority of that game….I wasn’t lying about playing against Hopson before….he is one of the worst defenders in the SEC. Don’t forget Meeks scored 51 against Tennessee.
0 - Posted on: Thu, 06/18/2009 - 9:25am #167422
dolla33no i dont want him in a suit and tie every game but he ready for the nba now.. if it dont workout then go to the d league and improve his game
0 - Posted on: Thu, 06/18/2009 - 9:26am #167414
dolla33yeah i am christmas fan and lets see how he will do in the nba before you go i told you so his rookie he going to average 12 points or more a game
0 - Posted on: Thu, 06/18/2009 - 9:31am #167432
j1232eParticipantdo you know how the dleague works? An nba team can send two players at a time to the dleague, that team can recall players up to three times a year. That player must be under 2 years ex. in the nba though. I told you I have him selected by portland at 38. I do not see him overtaking one of ther sg’s this year unless webster can not come back from his injury.
0 - Posted on: Thu, 06/18/2009 - 9:39am #167447
dolla33now i no thanks but i think hes a late first rounder
0 - Posted on: Thu, 06/18/2009 - 9:44am #167454
xbadgerhustlerParticipantdolla: news flash
in the NBA, sometimes SFs guard SGs. we get it, you think christmas is going to be really good… people said the same thing about adam morrison
0 - Posted on: Thu, 06/18/2009 - 9:53am #167462
dolla33yo just wait and see how he will do in nba but not offen a sf will guard a rookie shooting guard if he have to that means that rookie is problem for that team LOL
0 - Posted on: Thu, 06/18/2009 - 10:21am #167485
xbadgerhustlerParticipantthat’s my point though, if he gets hot in the NBA, every team has someone they can stick on him to shut him down… therefore he will not get hot.
0 - Posted on: Thu, 06/18/2009 - 10:23am #167488
rustyshacklefordParticipantbecause there are at least 30 players who are better than him.
sure he dropped 35 on tennessee…he also shot like 1-13 in the ncaa tournament against michigan state.
in addition to that he had games shooting 1-7, 2-12, 3-15, and 1-10 against nba player factories such as richmond, penn state, george washington and st joe’s0 - Posted on: Thu, 06/18/2009 - 10:25am #167491

mshipp215ParticipantWell its good to see Dionte getting a lot of buzz with the draft getting close but as a friend I don’t see him getting drafted in the first round. He has a crazy work ethic and can shoot the light out so to say he will go undrafted is simply crazy. I truly think he will be drafted high in the second round but to say. Dionte goes in the first is a bit of a stretch. With all that being said I see him being one of those guys to keep working to make a name for himself as he did in high school and in college!!!
