For_Never_EverParticipantHe is robotic, isnt a good athlete other then his strength and a stiff on both ends. People had high hopes for him, but the guy just isnt that good.

King CaluchaParticipantHe averages 15 and 8 (on a bad team, but still)… then he has one bad game and you start trashing him? Come on…

For_Never_EverParticipantThe poster asked a question I answered from my point of view. Everyone on the site breaks downs everyone game and faults. I can name a player on every bad team putting good numbers, so are they all good players ? How many years is it going take for Kanter or is this about what he is ?

SiggyParticipantYou can’t play 2 bigs who can’t guard on the perimeter vs the Mavs. Neither Favors nor Kanter can defend Dirk. Marvin Williams can so he got extended minutes and played well.

Jester87ParticipantI totally agree with that, but at the same time it kinda worries me that the Jazz seem to build around those two bigs while the two bigs formula doesn’t belong much to the nba these days. Utah right now is the worst team in the league on both sides of the court, with those two bigs (and the fact that no one except Hayward is a respectable 3 point shooter) they have serious issues spacing the floor and at the same time they have really hard times defending against pick and rolls (which is the bread and butter of todays nba offenses) and small lineups/combo forwards/stretch 4s/versatile bigs. Now, I know they’re not supposed to win this year, but they should be trying at least to find out what is going to be the core for their rebuilding.
I’m not questioning Favors or Kanter, but I have quite a few doubts about the Jazz building their future around those two. Probably one of them isn’t going to be psrt of it an, since Favors just got a big contract, Kanter is the one who has more chances of leaving, whether it’s via trade (this year or the next one) or free agency if he’s going to ask for a lot of money

jwall1ParticipantIts one bad game. He is an above average center offensively, but he cannot for the life of him play defense….

TheLastWordParticipantKanter’s basketball IQ is not good. He will wildy contest shots he has no hope of altering and it completely takes him out of future rebounding and defensive positioning. He does move fairly well for a big guy and has a nice shooting touch so think he just needs some really good coaching.

HitsterParticipantFavours and Kanter are putting up fairly good stats yet the Jazz are 1-13, we know there are reasons for this. But these two guys were both top 3 picks so should we start to see more all round contributions from them I wonder.
