Parker/Wiggins parallel Melo/Lebron?

* I am NOT saying Parker=Melo or Wiggins=Lebron, in term of skills, potential, etc.
Just wondering if the narrative of the pair are comparable, how everyone consensus was that Melo was "polished" and offensive most ready to play in NBA. While Lebron was more raw but with unprecedented athleticism at his position.
Do we see some of the same analogy with Parker/Wiggins?

Not really, because Parker isn’t a chucker that plays no defense like Melo.
As much as I like Wiggins, I have to see him on an NBA court before I call him Lebron 2.0.

  Op isnt saying he’ll be lebron 2.0. just comparing the current stage in both draft years. And by your wiggins theory, you’d have to see Jabari on an nba court to kow he isnt a chucker with no defence.
  
  Notsaying they’ll have similar numbers or games at all, but I can see Jabari having a career arc to Tim Duncan, where Wiggins’ will more resemble KG’s.
  What I mean by this: Duncan had a longer more consistent peak of dominance, where as KG may have had a higher peak in regards to individual talent, it didnt last as long and had more peaks and valleys than The Big Fundamental.
  I wouldnt be surprised that when looking back on the careers of these two together, that will be similar to that.

Instead i’ll just give my take on the whole Wiggins,Parker, and Randle debate. Wiggins is clearly the the guy with more potential but you can’t go wrong with Randle or Parker. In terms of how they will play in the future I’m not sure what type of player Wiggins will be in the future, I know he is athletic but he doesn’t really remind of any player in the past. Jabari gets that Melo/Pierce comparison which is great and Randle reminds me of Webber. My question here is how many/which teams would actually pick Randle or Parker over Wiggins if they had the first pick of the draft?

Most people are viewing them the other way around….but I will say when I saw jabari play vs Kansas it made me say that he dominated the way Lebron WOULD’VE had he went to college not that he plays like him exactly though…

  feel you. I just get that vibe from Jabari that he’s a winner. He dominated IHSA (hs) basketball for 4 years… akin to the likes of Derrick Rose.. and even Lebron
  And dude that was one game lol I’m just thinking long term, we’ll see in a few years.

I think Wiggins, Parker, Smart, & Gordon all look like no brainer top 5 draft picks, but I’m also not convinced at this point that Randle doesn’t look better than all of them. He looks like a combination of Chris Webber & Zach Randolph to me. The guy is a double-double machine.

I think Parker and Wiggins are alot closer (in terms of the race to the #1 pick) than Lebron and Melo were.

LeBron’s draft was LeBron…and then everyone else. He was the clearcut #1 and there was no debating that. He was raw in terms of shooting , but he had the ball-handling, passing, feel for the game and driving ability (+ physical maturity to absorb contact) to be entrusted with the ball from day one. It’d be unfair to Wiggins to even compare him to LeBron because LeBron was on a whole other level as a prospect.
So no, I don’t see a parallel.

Wiggins/Parker/Randle who goes 1st debate is more like the 1982 Draft when there were Outstanding players Dominque Wilkens/James Worthy/Terry Cummings…All were equally talented,but neither guy had separated himself from the others….All it came down to who a team loved the most…
I remember alot of people felt that the flashy Wilkens would be the obvious choice for the Showtime Lakers..But Jerry West,the GM at the time said there were concerned about Wilkens overall game and felt Worthy would be the better fit…
That draft was 30 yrs ago and as we know now, Worthy & Wilkens are Hall of Famers..And many feel Cummings should also be there..So whoever draft one of the freshmen will be getting a very good player……And if Embiid continue to blossom and have a breakout Tourney,his name could be in the conversation for the 1st pick….

From what I’ve seen early in the year there should be no doubt that both players will continue towirk hard and get better everyday. Its such a breath of fresh air to see such humble hardworking kids with amazing attitude and ethics. Despite my bias opinion and the fact that Wiggins always beats Parker in head to head matches I think Parker is currently the better player at this time. I’ve never seen a freshman understand the game as much as Parker and that in my opinion is the only current seperation. Both players are very young though and this debate will likely last forever.
