qDizzle32ParticipantFirst of all, I am not saying he’s gonna be a bust at all. I was very impressed in him that one summer league game where he scored 15 points in the fourth quarter. However I am having a very hard time why the Cavaliers used that #1 pick on him if their only gonna use him as a Power Forward. He’s obviously not there with Tristan Thompson yet but I figured he was gonna be a Small Forward after he got drafted since that was the one position they were lacking of the most ever since LeBron murdered that franchise. I understand how he is overweight and a little too slow to play the small forward in the NBA but he does have a decent 3 point shot along with a ability to get to the basket. Maybe the Cavs will try him out at the 3 later on this season but I just can’t understand why the Cavs used a #1 pick on him when their only gonna use him as same position as Tristan Thompson who is already one of their franchise talents?

CavFanPRParticipantHe grabbed 6 rebounds in 13 minutes of action and had 2 steals. Give him time bro. We picked who we thought was the best talent available. I like Noel and Cody Zeller as well but Bennett has a chance to be special. Noel is a bigger risk and may never pan out and Zeller still has to improve in a lot of aspects.

Anton123ParticipantHe’s really not looking good at all as of now, he’s out of shape and there’s no excuse for that anymore, he has had enough time to get into game shape and should’ve never gotten out of shape in the first place.
He also looks bad on offense in that it seems half his shots are threes and he’s not too good at making them yet. This all is really alarming to me because it makes me question his attitude and b-ball IQ – two things that often don’t improve with time.

44ears81I said from the beginning that MCW would definitely have the best first 3 games of anyone in this draft class

aztwulfParticipantBennett and D. Williams are pretty similar players, kind of in the same predicament. Small stretch 4’s stuck behind an All-Star (Love) and a promising young talent (Thompson). I think both were drafted because the team deemed them the BPA , and not because of need.
Williams looked really good the other night in about 20 minutes of action, mostly at small forward. It remains to be seen if he can continue to put up good numbers game after game.
Both players would probably be better off if they could get traded to a team with an opening for a stretch 4.

RUDEBOY_ParticipantRight now coach Brown wants to bring him along slowly…Becuz currently he has alot going on…He needs to shed some weight,he’s overcoming an injury,he has an asthma problem, which bothered him in the preseason…And he has sleep apnea ,which causes him to stay up late…In time Bennett will become a very good player..

Chilbert arenasParticipantI rather have DWill over Bennett. Me and my friend both agreed before the draft that the Cavs should have taken the most sure fire pro and that was Oladipo. I was always a Bennett fan at Findlay and UNLV but never thought he should be a top 10 pick let alone the #1 pick. I don’t see any way he’ll ever play the 3 and with Thompson and improving the way he has Bennett has no shot of starting anytime soon. Even in a bad draft you aren’t looking to get a rotation guy with the #1 pick.

RUDEBOY_Participantyou must be sleep at the computer…becuz your sentence doesnt make any sense..
you should’ve said from the start we didnt feel he was worthy of being the 1st pick…..
but you said ”we are bandwagon jumpers”.. in order to jump off the bandwagon, you have to had been on it in the 1st place…..

CynthiaParticipantMy sentence makes perfect sense. Perhaps you should try reading it a couple more times, because you obviously did not comprehend it correctly.

HitsterParticipantIf he’s only going to be used as a PF then will he get much playing time if Bynum comes back sound as Thompson and Varejao are playing big minutes at the moment.
If Bynum does start to play good minutes, I wonder if they may try to pull a trade for Varejao as he’s got a near $10 million team option for next year which a team wanting to create cap space could jump at. But Varejao has been there a long time and Coach Brown knows him well so could the franchise be reluctant to deal one of it’s most popular players if he is finally fit and playing well again.

drpg913ParticipantThey drafted Bennet instead of Oladipo because they didn’t want to admit that they made a mistake in drafting Waiters. McClemore would have been better than drafting Bennet and putting your eggs in the Dion Waiters basket. I don’t believe in Tristain Thompson but they seem commited to him so the Bennet pick doesn’t make much sense

TheLastWordParticipantThe hard thing about getting #1 in a sucky draft is you try and find a superstar who just doesn’t exist. Cleveland has their superstar in Irving though, so should just have went with a sure thing defensively like Dipo and make Waiters a 6th man.

CavFanPRParticipantAre you guys kidding me? Oladipo doesn’t fit next to Kyrie! Not like Dion is a way better fit but in terms of talent, they are similar so what’s the point of drafting him? We needed a scoring 4 and we got the best one in Bennett.

torontoraptors10ParticipantI remember when I said Nicholson is better than Bennett and everyone had an issue with it on the website.

Anthony Bennett’s position is going to be very tough in the NBA. Is he big enough to play the PF? Is he quick enough to play the SF position? He has good size, but does he know how to use it effectively?
I think he will be a decent player in the NBA, possibly an all-star once or twice. But I don’t think people should expect a lot from him. There’s a lot of questions surrounding his game, but I hope he does break through his struggles.

CavFanPRParticipantI agree that Nicholson is a very good player. I saw the FIBA America games and he was very impressive at times. I think he needs to add some bulk to his frame though. That’s the only knock I have on him.

jwall1ParticipantI think from Cleveland chose Bennett based on a positional need/potential. He obviously has alot of work to do, but I would not say it was a bad pick. I think if he sheds some weight and works at it he could play SF. They obviously felt Waiters was their 2 guard of the future, but if they didn’t have Waiters I would think they would have chosen Oladipo or Mclemore…
