Wavy BagelsParticipantThe kid is playing his heart out against the defending champs. 20pts, 12asts, 9 STEALS. The Sixers are up 2. How fitting it would be for them to win against the Heat in the wake of Allen Iverson’s retirement?

Ny2daDeathOFmeParticipantIM so tight you beat me to making a post about him and the sixers lol. but seriously though this kid can play, he’s so relentlest. IM loving the way this sixers team is playing, they’re so active on both ends but they are shining on Defense because their length.

GlenTaylorSucksParticipant…of Syracuse busts? ‘Melo has been the only one who’s even remotely lived up to expectations that I can think of. For reals though, he’s out Chris-Paul-ing Chris Paul right now. 4 3PM’s?! 7 STEALS?!?! SO glad I drafted him in the 12th round in my fantasy league lmao

GottaBeTheShoesParticipantTalk about stuffing the stat sheet. Good win for the Sixers , they showed a lot of heart overall (Good things for the future of course, still just 1 game). Don’t forget Evan Turner’s big game- 26 points (10-19 shooting), 4 rebs, 5 Assists.

machu46Participant1. Nearly half those steals came against LeBron too, whether they were passes to LeBron or stripping him when he drove. Just crazy.
2. And that, my friends, is why I was so high on MCW. He’s going to have a lot of growing pains, but outside of maybe Antetokounmpo, he might have the highest potential in this past year’s draft. I said before the season began that I thought ROY would come down to him and Oladipo. It’s only one game, but I feel pretty good about that prediction.

Tongue-Out-Like-23ParticipantHe actually only had two steals on LeBron but still, two steals on LeBron in your first game is an accomplishment itself.

machu46ParticipantI’m not positive, but I think he had two steals in a row to end the game on LeBron drives, and he also intercepted an alley oop pass to LeBron in the 1st quarter, so that’s at least 3/9 if that’s true.
Regardless, 9 steals is absolutely insane. And he could have had like 16 assists if his teammates didn’t miss uncontested layups lol.

The Scare Crow RisesParticipantWeren’t we supposed to be tanking for Andrew Wiggins from day 1???Aren’t we supposed to be an historically bad team?
Eff that for 1 game, we just beat the 2x defending champs and showed crazy heart doing so.
MCW, E.T, Thad Young, Nerlens Noel and Spencer Hawes are very talented young players, hell Wroten and Moultrie still have potential too, and if they add a franchise player via the draft and save some money for a Free Agent to lead them this team will be a bonafide championship contender in 3-5 years

Sewok15ParticipantHe only had one turnover too which was one of the most impressive things about the rest of the night. Playing against the Heat you always see Chalmers and Cole turn the opposing PG’s especially with LeBron playing the passing lanes.
When the Sixers drafted him I wasn’t exactly thrilled about him as a prospect because of his suspect shooting stroke and he seemed to be turnover prone. Well tonight he shot the lights out and didn’t turn it over so needless to say he was incredibly impressive. I don’t expect him to consistently put up Chris Paul or Rondo #’s as a rookie but he showed the ability to effect the game with his defense and run the break and finish which will be important for him moving on. If he continues to develop his outside shot at this pace it will be a bonus and he could be really good.

Seriously, historic debut and good luck to him but you all need to calm down!0 - Posted on: Wed, 10/30/2013 - 7:25pm #846274

wrectorParticipantThe Assists, Steals and Rebounds were expected…although 9 steals is still impressive. But what shocked me the most when I was looking over his stats was his fg% and low TO numbers! The curious thing about MCW is that he hasn’t been able to play at that level consistently. He would put up giant numbers across the board for ‘Cuse and in the next game look abysmal. If he can just find a way to play with some consistency from game to game he will be an extra special player.

machu46ParticipantAgreed. I think most people that have paid a lot of attention to him over the past 2 years knew he was capable of blowing up for games like this. It’s consistency that will be the key for him. He’s going to have a lot of bumps along the road over the next year or two, but if he can get that jumpshot to be just slightly effective, I think he’ll turn out to be an above average starting PG.
You can already tell he put in a ton of work on his ball-handling just watching from his college games to pre-season, and now the first regular season game. He looks far more confident with his handle.

A Lil EnglishParticipantRegardless of how how he plays from here on, everyone who said he can’t shoot is being proved wrong. His shot looks good.
This is something I noticed in pre season when he was drilling them IN TRANSITION. Non shooters don’t even pull up in transition but he is doing so with confidence.
0- Posted on: Thu, 10/31/2013 - 8:20am #846359
machu46ParticipantDefinitely have to see if he can consistently stroke it. Confidence has never been an issue with him though. He did the same thing at Syracuse, and obviously we all know he struggled with his shot mightily.
But the arc on his shot that he had in high school looks like it’s finally returned. That could be a huge deal for him.
Oh man, rewatching his highlights from last night just makes me smile so big.

r377ParticipantThe Chicago Bulls have traded a protected second-round pick of the 2020 NBA Draft to the Houston Rockets for guard Michael Carter-Williams and cash considerations. In a preceding move, the Bulls waived guard MarShon Brooks. Carter-Williams was also waived following the trade.A career 40%fg shooter this will have to be his last season in the NBA.
Will he play in China next year or do you think he is good enough to end up in Europe ?
