B-ball fanParticipantDidn’t you already post this?
I don’t see why Portland would do this trade. Aldridge must have some trade value. Swapping a mildly promising young player for a slightly less promising other young player and a mid-late first rounder is not worth getting a vastly inferior replacement for Aldridge.

juice304ParticipantLast time i checked, Aldridge was a top 5 PF in the league. Portland would have to get more to do anything with him.

I just read an article on NBA.com about how LaMarcus Aldridge is in talks about a trade. So here’s my piece on a reasonable 3-Team Trade:
From the trade above:
The Bulls
– Lose: Loul Deng
– Get: LaMarcus AldridgeThe Trailblazers
– Lose: LaMarcus Aldridge
– Get: Greg Monroe and Charlie VillanuevaThe Pistons
– Lose Greg Monroe and Charlie Villanueva
– Get: Loul DengI personally think this is a fair trade among all three teams.
The Trailblazers lose a center piece, but gain and emerging player in Monroe who has the capabilities to make up for the lose in scoring, rebounding and size that Aldridge gave them. Villanueva is an expiring contract after the 13-14 season so they don’t have to worry about him in the long run.
The Bulls lose Deng, a lockdown defender, spot-up shooter and defensive anchor. However, they can replace him easily with Jimmy Butler Waiting in the wings and they get LaMarcus Aldridge, A legitimate scoring option who can give Derrick rose that deadly pick and roll/pop/fade game
The Pistons lose a young budding player in Monroe (and thankfully, dump a contract in Villanueva) but they get a premier wing man in Deng, who slide to the 3, allowing them to play a line up of 1. Knight 2. Stuckey 3. Deng 4. Smith 5. Drummond 6. KCP. they will have MUCH BETTER spacing and better shooting.
Hopefully this goes over well with you guys hahaha

SliderParticipantBoozer is still on the roster. He wouldn’t accept a 6th man role. No wants Boozer’s contract unless the Bulls pay for 90% of his remaining contract. Which I don’t think they will. They will still have to pay him if they cut Boozer. SobI think the Bulls won’t do this trade.

MrManalo43Participantyeah, i gotcha, but when i was thinking this up, I was thinking that the bulls would amnesty him if he was eligible or just most likely shrug him off and say “your problems, or a more consistent, younger all star as our starting 4”. Plus in the wake of players making sacrifices to fit into a legitimate title contender, i thought he would bow down for the betterment of the team for a lesser role if it meant a better chance at a championship he’s never won.
but yeah. there’s always something in the way…

Detroit FanaddictParticipantWhy would the Pistons give up a good young talent like Greg Monroe for a much older Loul Deng who could walk at the end of the year? Also Charlie Villanueva’s expiring contract is attractive to teams looking to shed salary cap. You don’t dump it, you use it as a trade chip.

wrectorParticipantBad trade for the Blazers – they could bring in way more than that for LA. The pick would be more attractive if it were lottery bound but Wizards have a good chance to make the playoffs, especially hypothetically if this trade went through.

mike_r232ParticipantThe Bulls would have a lot of guys fighting for time at the 4/5 with Noah, Booz, Taj, and LA. I’d love to see LA in a Bulls jersey as I remember yelling for joy when they drafted him and SCREAMING at the TV when they traded him for Tyrus Thomas (the next Shawn Marion my ass). This would also open up more holes at the wing. They’d probably end up starting Butler and Dunleavy at the wings… maybe Kirk and Butler. Either way, their depth gets much stronger down low and much worse on the wings.

MrManalo43ParticipantMarcus Teague and Andrew Goudelock are viable options
I know it’s just the D-League, but these two are very much improved and Goudelock can fill the roll of instant scoring off the bench that Robinson left behind at around 12-14 ppg.
Teague is a more than capable backup-PG and can run as an off-ball 2 guard next to rose.
As for the backup-SF spot, you’re def right about Dunleavy, he can play around 10 mpg and could stretch it out more than butler
but let’s not forget Tony Snell, the recent draft pick. he can play around 15 mpg as a rookie as a part of the backup SG and backup SF rotation, develop and come back next year a much better player.

druneave3ParticipantIn what world does Marquis Teague ever play 2 guard?!?!
Teague more than capable back up PG? He has improved but I still don’t like him. He can get to the hoop despite defenders playing off him. He is finishing at the hoop in SL ok but that will always be one of his weakness because of his lack of size and leaping ability.
Goudelock probably won’t make the team. He will make his way on a roster, just not the Bulls as they are looking for another big man. Camby perhaps.
Summer League announcers stated the Bulls are in love with Snell but realized he is not ready for the NBA just yet. Needs to get stronger and what from Bulls/Thibs history indicates that a rookie will get 15 minutes plus?
