laarethekingsParticipantNo No and No.
He’s making 7.7 right now. Maybe if you put a bid at 3.5 million.

BasketBalAllanParticipantI also happen to think he is not worth his max but I guess the question should have read: Are there teams who will bid the Max for Metta? ( I hope the answer stays no but I get the feeling someone will overpay just to outbid someone else).

BasketBalAllanParticipantIf the Lakers do indeed amnesty Metta then he will be available for the 12 teams with over a couple million in cap space to bid on his contract. (you have to have the cap space now, there is no trading allowed to make more room)
This is pretty much how it works:
1. The highest bid gets the player ( the max bid is the players full contract, everything included)
2. In a tie the player goes to the team with the worst record last seasonNow the real question here is: Is Metta worth his full contract?
If this is the case and teams do indeed bid his max contract then the teams with priority go:
1. Orlando
2. Charlotte
3. Cleveland
4. Sacramento
5. Detroit
6. PhiladelphiaI believe that out of this list the teams that will be most interested are the Cavs and the Kings.

Chilbert arenasParticipantWith all these mediocre players getting overpaid this summer I wouldn’t put it past some bone headed GM to do it, but he’s certainly not worth it. He’s regressed offensively more than any other player in recent memory.

phila9012ParticipantIf I can get him for a minimum contract I would take him if I am a veteran/contending team like the thunder or rockets, or heat I think everyone else gets a shot at the guys if no one puts an offer in, I could be wrong though.

jjbutler73ParticipantHe’s worth $7 million in todays NBA, but nobody has to bid that. Not 1 amnestied player has ever been bid close to their contract total.

JoeWolf1He took 11 shots and hit 40% of them. He can still defend, but he’s regressed into a very inefficient offensive player and a bit of a 3 point chucker. At this point in MWP’s career, he should just focus on D and not try to be the offensive player he was in his twenties. If he played smarter on offense, I’d say he’d be worth 4 or 5 million.

joecheck88ParticipantIf I’m Houston and can afford it I’m putting a bid in. As long as he knows he’s a back up combo forward for 15-20 minutes a night.

RafterParticipantIf I’m a rebuilding team, I don’t want “Metta World Peace” anywhere near my locker room.
