joshsm12ParticipantI keep hearing all this hate on GSW, how they lost their bench, they wont be as good this season, so on and so forth. One of their weakest points was backcourt defense which Iggy helps out tremendously, also people need to realize they have such a young core with the team and will only get better, Curry gained so much confidence last season and with that amazing playoff run, Thompson is only going to improve, Barnes will get better and will be a great sub off the bench. Plus now Marc Jackson has sooo many lineups he can put out there, small to big depending on who they play. Plus the surgance of draymond green in the post season
Depth chart
Curry, Macadoo
Thompson, Bazemore
Iggy, Barnes, Green
Lee, Barnes
Bogut, Ezile….. Not bad…0 - Posted on: Mon, 07/08/2013 - 9:05am #816762

Sewok15ParticipantSurgance isn’t a word.

benny15Participantgive me at least beno udrih as the back-up point guard to make me more comfortable going into the season. it was promising to see how steph was last season, but i would want a back-up point guard who can start at spurts for this team. and with iguodala’s play making, i would want that guy to have a nice shot on him.

WarblingSpamalopeParticipantI don’t think it’s hate, but I definitely have concerns. The 2/3 minutes will be great, but they don’t have quality backups for injury prone players. A long stretch(20 games) without Curry could be lights out in a tough west. Landry and Jack were consistent veterans and Curry, Bogut, and Lee have had injury issues throughout their careers. I don’t get why pushing Barnes to the bench for Iggy at the expense of Jack and Landry, especially Jack, was the call.

SpacegrassParticipantIf I were GSW I would have Thompson coming off the bench as the 6th man scorer. Only reason I can imagine why they picked up Iggy and let Jack and Landry go was so they can run more offense without the ball being in Curry’s hands allowing him to play off the ball. Maybe decrease the physical toll of an 82 game season some. Plus 4yrs/48mill is not a bad contract for a guy as versatile as Iggy. It should allow him to fit in nicely since they don’t need him to be a go to scorer. Let him facilitate for Curry , Thompson , and Barnes.

TripleDoubleScoutParticipantI think you guys are missing the best possibility: iggy as a super-6th man. Basically a starter coming off the bench ala ginobili when the spurs were winning chips, but even more potent because iggy can play 3 positions. He will get starters’ minutes without breaking the flow of everyone’s offense…

Tongue-Out-Like-23ParticipantYeah I said this on another thread.
Barnes can play his 32 minutes. 16 left for Iggy.
Thompson can play his 36 minutes. 12 left for Iggy.
Curry can play his 38 minutes. 10 left for Iggy. That’s 38 minutes left over for Iggy at three different positions.
