I think they basically gave him away. The details aren’t fully out but he is a 76er now. I am kind of surprised because Hinkie was with the Rockets and had to deal with that headache already.

The Sixers are quickly building assets that will improve their record in a few years, not this year. They are wisely building a team that is still going to be a 2014 lottery team.

When you pick up Royce White, you mist really want to tank.
Their plan is probably to make him the starting 4, just so team chemistry will never develop and other players are driven into mega-fatigue. The ultimate tank scheme.

Too bad he wasn’t on the same team with Bynum, a couple of talented kids with some different ideas about how to get on the court. I’ve been saying from the beginning that I didn’t think he would ever make it to an official game but stranger things have happened. If he ever makes it to a home game the crowd in Philly could give him real problems

No coincidence that Royce took “the weekend off” Twitter this weekend (but he still tweeted and retweeted). White is worth the punt but the Rockets are a better run organisation and they couldn’t extract any more out of him.

I want to hear about White the player, not White the guy who’s afraid of flying. Makes me wonder what happened to the guy that had loads of athleticism and potential and could do stuff like this:
He needs to do something, ANYTHING, to get back on the court. I don’t think anyone has much patience left for him. I certainly don’t.

He’s going to prove a lot of the critics wrong…None of us know what it’s like to have a mental disorder, anxiety is a serious thing, my wife lives with several of them and its hard dealing with sometimes…Royce was put in a tough situation in Houston and he didn’t help matters when he took his problems with the Team to Twitter, I don’t believe he caused irreversable damage to his image though, Sam Hinkie would know a little more about that then us…
Basketball wise this gives the 76ers a talented combo F who can be a good inside/out player who rebounds and passes the ball well, he’s skilled enough to start or come off the bench in the future and if he develops a corner 3 point shot and puts his anxiety issues in their place he could be a steal for the 76ers…
Best part of this trade is we added a good player for peanuts, and he’s not going to effect our draft position in 2014…

More than likely, he will become an unrestricted free agent after 2013-14. For now, the 6ers are planning to use White’s deal as an expiring contract.
