beargar10ParticipantBennett was an odd pick but he has his ups and downs.
Plus
He is a possible break out star like every other top 10 rookie. He can shoot the three and post-up which is a great skill so SF and PF are possible positions he can play. He can be a great post up player with his height. He can really be creative and with his height he can draw fouls like over-the-back more oftenMinus
He is small for the PF position. Taller people can easily gain more rebounds. His SF skills are low so if they need him to play SF for the season he needs to do some work.0 - Posted on: Fri, 07/05/2013 - 8:44am #813834

JoeWolf1He can be a great post up player with his height? Do you realize he’s 6’7” and loves to play on the perimeter? He’s a nice combination of skill, strength, athleticism and power which is why he went so high, too high IMO, but I just don’t know what to make of your post. You call him short, and tall and I honestly don’t think you really have seen him play.
I think he’ll be a decent 3rd option for Cleveland as a rookie. Something to the tune of 13 or 14 ppg to go with 7 rebounds, he can do a lot, but Cleveland has a legit #1 option and an emerging #2 option in Waiters. I just don’t think Bennett’s role is going to be much more than a 3rd option to bully 3’s and face up 4’s during his first year. He’s got some real upside going forward, but I don’t think he’s going to be a major star or anything, but he could be a high teens scorer and versitile offensive player and bruiser.

jmarg25ParticipantI think he means despite his height, he can still be a good post up player.

JoeWolf1Gotcha, I still think from watching him last year that he’s a guy who wants to play on the perimeter and crash the offensive glass. I don’t think he sees himself as a post player, but he does have enough room to develop a nice game if Cleveland beats it into him.

WITNESS2014ParticipantEven though he is only 6’7 I think his longer wingspan and broad shoulders will help him get rebounds and bang a little down low. Im worried that hes going to want to float around on the perimeter as joewolf just mentioned.

Chilbert arenasParticipantHe’s not going to nor ever will play the small forward in the NBA. Teams are going smaller so it’s not a big deal for him to play the 4 but doesn’t have the foot speed to guard opposing 3s.

DolanCareParticipantAmen. I’ll go effing nuts if one more ESPN analyst calls him a 3. He’s a stretch four who needs a coach to nag him into banging down low more.

ReekoParticipantSome of the greatest rebounders in NBA history are 6’7 or under i.e. Charles Barkley and Dennis Rodman. Height generally does not dictate how good of a rebounder a player will be, heart is usually a better indicator. With so many great rebounders at the small forward position now: Kawhi Leonard, Lebron, Paul George I think it’s proven that height is a poor indicator or rebounding prowess, I mean look at Kyle Lowry and Rajon Rondo both of them are under 6’3 but they are probably two of the best rebounders at their positions with the ability to get 10 plus rebounds on any given night.

anthony_DavIS23ParticipantI watched most of UNLV’S games last year and all Bennett can do in the post is fadeaways. He needs to add a post hook to play in the low block in the nba
