Use this thread to submit your outlandish, ‘so crazy it just might work’ trade ideas.

I thought i’d start the thread because i had a crazy thought the other day. Danny Ainge is known for amassing assets and making big trades for stars. He has Humphries’ expiring contract, several good young prospects, and a bunch of first round picks.

Is there any way that the Celtics could convince Dwight Howard (sign and trade) to pair up with Rajon Rondo in Boston? The Lakers do not want long-term big contracts back so that they can sign max players in the 2014 Free Agency. To make this sign-and-trade work, the Lakers would get Humphries expiring contract, Jared Sullinger (good fit next to Gasol), Kelly Olynyk (who would fit well in D’antoni’s system), Avery Bradley (if they want him???), and 4 of the Celtics 9 first round picks over the next 5 years. The Lakers would have young players on rookie contracts and still be able to sign at least two max free agents next off-season.

The Celtics roster would be thin, but a lineup of Rajon Rondo, Marshon Brooks, Jeff Green, Gerald Wallace, and Dwight Howard would be a 5 or 6 seed in the East. The Lakers may not want Bradley because of his fit in their system. If the Celtics were able to keep him, they might have one of the better defensive teams in the NBA. Floor spacing and outside shooting would be a serious problem. To be a contender, they would need to fill in their roster with shooters (Gary Neal, Marco Bellinelli, Charlie Villanueva?), but the future in Boston would be brighter.

But Boston is always despised so as much as it makes sense Dwight probably wont come here to Boston. Negatives is because they hate to see Boston do well. Its a make sense deal but teams hate each other and Howard would have to agree to come to Boston wich is not a popular FA choice. Tax reasons I guess. Mass takes all your money.

Once the Brooklyn-Boston deal becomes official, the Celtics could trade Rajon Rondo and Gerald Wallace for Jeremy Lin, Omer Asik, Thomas Robinson, and a 2014 first round pick. Houston gets Rondo to convince Dwight to sign with them and the Celtics move forward as a rebuilding team, getting rid of their worst contract and getting a couple nice rotation pieces and young players. Seems like a good deal to me, although the Celtics are not a team that shows much inclination of wanting to have a complete rebuild.

Oh, I didn’t know that. Well, I guess sub in Terrence Jones for Robinson in my idea. Man, Robinson just can’t seem to find a home. Portland doesn’t seem like somewhere he can break out, either.

I don’t see why Boston would want to acquire Howard. They are trying to tank this year, not get a 5 or 6 seed in the East. Boston needs to trade Rondo for future picks so they are even worse and can rebuild through next year’s stacked draft and all the other 400 picks they have in the future.

Lakers trade Pau Gasol to Philly in a S&T for Bynum, Lakers then get League approval to waive the standard waiting period after a signing a player and then trade Bynum for Durant and Ibaka. Lakers then get Jack Nicholson to agree to a movie deal with Dwight so he stays in LA with the Lakers. The Lakers then poach the Suns medical staff and hold a county wide healing chant so Kobe heals 974% faster than normal. Mitch Kupchak convinces the world that Nash is currently better than Steph Curry and the Lakers “stupidly” trade Nash for Curry.

Giving the Lakers a healthy starting unit of: Curry, Kobe, Durant, Ibaka, and Howard.

Phil Jackson comes out of retirement to coach the team but lets Mike D’Antoni stay on as assistant to his assistant head coach.

Kareem decides to complain about not getting his own movie deal as well…

What if Atlanta can convince J SMoove to sign and Trade to Portland for LA give up their new big from this years draft as well as a future 1st round pick.

Then atlanta can convince AI and Reddick to come and play along side Horford, Aldridge, Williams and Teague.

Some people know nothing. He is at discount rate right now. Trading him during the season gets you more. A deal now is low balling. No explanation for negatives. Hoes on draftnet. You never give all to the pingpong dumb a$$. You keep a few peices. If they suck you trade mid season or if he is playing well you keep him. They have plenty of pics. People want to root for Rondo or just hate on Boston.
