Sheed has always been praised by teammates and coaches for his knowledge of the game and his ability to be a great leader inside the lockerroom. I’m actually not surprised he’d be up for his first assistant coaching job, especially in Detroit.

Sheed was considered to be a future coach even when he was playing for Detroit. Obviously he’ll need to cool it if he’s on the bench- if he can though, he’ll be a fantastic coach. He is respected and a great x and o’s guy. The OP is incorrect by saying that he is disinterested in watching tape. Sheed was known for being a student of the game.

I think he’d be an awesome coach. He was actually a good all-around player. He was skilled, selfless, understood the team game, good on both ends of the floor, was an on floor communicator on both ends as well. It also helps that he was well-respected by his peers and teammates. I think he’d be a great hire.

Rasheed was a great defender and for a big man had a great 3 point range so immediately I could see him being able to help Drummond and Monroe. He won a title with Detroit and had success with Portland so he brings experience and winning mentality to the table. Just hope he does not start contesting calls from the bench if he gets the coaching gig.

Sheed is well respected by Cheeks, praised by teammates, also he good at grooming players (I.e. Z.Randolph, J.O’Neal, Maxiell, A.Johnson) and would be good mentoring Drummond, Mitchell and Monroe. Sheed would be great for the young pistons maybe he can ignite some fire into some of them players on that team. I always thought that Ben Wallace would be the first pistons offered a job.
