This is just my opinion but I can guarantee this deal does not happen. Bledsoe is not a PG, he is an elite penetrating SG with below average playmaking skills, a inconsistent jumper, great athletisism and bad decision making. That’s all. Overrated to an extreme. Ujiri is not scared to trade Derozan although he is also not stupid. Im guessing their are more pieces not being discussed in this deal lime Jordan, Bargnani etc. Bledsoe isn’t even as good as Lowry.

Guaranteeing a trade not happening that revolves around a point guard who’s been involved in 1837390123901 trade rumors on this site alone is so BOLD.

Bledsoe is a shorter John Wall.

If there was no John Wall. Bledsoe would’ve been the premier PG on that KU team. That early overshadowing really didnt allow Bledsoe to show off his game
    Bledsoe is big time

^That was when we thought Curry had glass ankles… and word from Marc Stein is Clippers prefer Bargnani if they were to trade with Toronto, which is still difficult considering Doc is enamored with Bledsoe.

Bledsoe is a starting point guard. Peoples opinions on Bledsoe are always very exaggerated. They either hate him and say he is so overrated and that he cant shoot and that he cant pass, or you love him and say he is a future franchise calibre player. In my opinion, he is neither of these. He is a middling, average starting point guard. While he has elite athletic ability, and is a good defender, he is only an average shooter, and is a below average distributor. The comparisons to John Wall are silly. John is a distributing lead guard, while Bledsoe is more of a slashing combo, who needs to transition into being a point.

Derozan may not be a 1st option or a franchise changing talent but he is a great complimentary piece. Derozan can be a very good 2nd or 3rd option in the league offensively and if he ever becomes a consistent three point shooter he could be very dangerous. He will never be a 1st option due to his lack of an explosive first step and ball handling, but how many teams can say they have a 2nd option locked in for 9.5 mil and 4 years.

Bledsoe to me is a poor man’s John Wall. Eric put up stats similar to Johns and his per 36 minutes was 15-ppg, 5-apg, 5-rpg 2.5 spg, and 1.4 bpg. Walls was 20.5-ppg, 8.5-apg, 4.5-rpg, 2.0-spg and 0.7-bpg. The main differences statically would be their 3-pt shooting percentage which Bledsoe absolutely dominates Wall in. Wall also scored 5-ppg, and 3-apg which is about 12 points (5-ppg+3-apg “1 assists about 2.3 points”=12 points) more then Bledsoe while having a similar TO rate 3.2 to 3.5 in favor of Bledsoe. Bledsoe on defense proves to regain his team about one more possession per game then Wall per 36. Wall played 32-mpg with a much worse supporting cast and Bledsoe played 20 mpg with a supporting cast with amazing veterans like Hill, Butler, Crawford, and Billups also Griffin and Jordan aren’t bad targets for assists.

Even after checking the statistical breakdown reality needs to be taken into consideration. In reality Eric Bledsoe is like John Wall in the fact that he becomes your offence. The offence will be ran through Bledsoe similar to how Westbrook makes decisions for OKC, Rose for the Bulls, Paul for LAC, and most of the best PGs in the league. Only problem is he isn’t that good offensively. Bledsoe gets most of his points from his quickness advantage as a sparkplug off the bench and running true break in LA makes it easy to rack up assists. I think in Toronto Bledsoe would average 15-ppg, 4-rpg, 4-apg, 2-spg, 0.7-bog on low percentages shooting and a high turnover rate.

The Bledsoe for Derozan trade is a bad trade unless Toronto plans on tanking this year. If Toronto wants to tank Im all for it, but they gotta male sure they get rid of Rudy Gay too and his 34-mil in two years. The funny thing is Gay and Derozan almost have identical stats and everyone desperately wants to ship out Demar, and calls him over priced. Lets trade Rudy. I may not be excited about trading a decent complimentary piece for a mediocre lead piece but I will be happy yo not have to see Demar struggle rebounding and focus defensively.

Bledsoe has alot of room for growth and he can become a good player in this league, but at this point he is a poor man’s John Wall, Russell Westbrook type player. His feel for the PG position is average at best and he plays at his own speed. If the Raps tank they better not half ass it and just completely clear house.

Rebuilding through Bledsoe, Ross, and Valanciunas would be great nothing would make me happier but that’s only if they get rid of Gay, Derozan and Bargnani.

No I think my post shows that I don’t want anyone out other then Andrea, but if someone was to leave due to a contract issue it should be Gay. He was one of the least efficient players in the league and one of the highest paid. We have two players fitting that category Bargnani and Gay. The Raptors should get value for Bargnani and test out the team we have now. If we can get Bledsoe for some sort of Lowry, Bargnani package then great but I don’t think Derozan should be moved. The team we have now is young and talented but we only have Gay under contract for two years. Raptors will not resign him without overpaying him so we might as well try to win if we keep him. Maybe Im wrong but I think a combination of Lowry and Derozan is better then Bledsoe. Quite honestly Lowry is a better player then Bledsoe at this point in their careers.
