Evans is probably on his way out. Thomas isn’t the long term answer at the point so I don’t get why they passed on Burke. I guess they where extremely high on McLemore but Burke upgrades the pg spot and allows them to keep Evans. They need to sign a veteran pg like Mo Williams if they wanna make a push for the playoffs this year.

I kind of wanted Evans to come to the Hawks, but unless its a near max contract, I think Sacramento will match any offer. Also being that McLemore is a great shooter, I can see them trying Evans at the 3 again. Evans as the ball handler while Thomas/Fredette and McLemore/Thornton plays off him. Patterson is also a stretch four. Just needs the coach to build this system effectively around making things easier for Cousins.

BTW- I really like McCullum. Rumors are that Fredette is on his way out, so that should clear up some space. Utah and Indy were rumored to be interested, and since Utah needs a backup behind Burke and Indy not drafting a pg, I can see both still looking to deal for Fredette. Both has cap space can send a pick back to the Kings.

He’s a brilliant shooter, but him and Marcus thornton have terrible metrics and can’t play defense. The thing about Evans is they can go a few different ways with him. Evans could be signed and traded to the Hawks for Jeff Teague who has improved in the play making a ability. He is an above average shooter, not sure about his defense but I know he’s atheltic and a team player.

If not that, you keep Evans and use him where he was most effective. At the point guard position they can use B-Mac to spread the floor while evans does most of his damage from attacking the rim for the most part. Evans doesn’t have to go, he’s the most versatile out of all the guards the Kings have. As for Thomas, he’s proven he can be a back up, or an above average starter in the league. Demarcus Cousins and Thomas are also good friends and having him around could prove useful to Cousin’s development in his inconsistent anger management.

If Ray McCallum proves to be a better PG than Evans and Thomas it pushes Evans out the door. If not then there is no point in trading away Evans. The odd men out here are clearly Jimmer and Thornton. The best way to put this team together is simply put Tyreke at PG. The dude freakin averaged 20,5,5 as a rookie when he played the point. They aren’t gonna go any where with Isaiah Thomas running the team and jimmer is probably on his way out. Tyreke and Big Mac is a great backcourt to look forward to.
