Why is no one talking about Zeller to the Cats? I think this is the only player I like on their team. He’s a 7 footer that can really move. Run the floor like a deer. I see him as a 19-9 player. Only player over 6-10 on the roster that has any skill.

This site says NBA Comparison: LaMarcus Aldridge. I’m also hearing things like Chris Bosh. If he’s one of them. MJ and the Cats have one hell of a player.

Honestly I don’t think he’ll be that great of a pro. But that’s just me and my opinion, for the sake of Cats fans I hope he’s good.

Passing on Noel, Len and McLemore was a surprise. IMO, they are going to regret this pick in a couple of years.

Honestly as a Bobcats fan I kind of freaked out, but after thinking about it for a few hours I don’t hate the pick. He’s an athletic big with a great personality and high work ethic. It helps that he is injury free and fits a position of need. Len and Noel’s injuries may have been worse than reported to the media and although I did want McLemore a lot, we really did need to get someone for our frontcourt bad. We’ll see how he does in summer league but maybe picking fairly safe in such a crazy draft is a smart move.

Ill say this, i thought zeller was a great fit for charlotte before the draft and i mocked him correctly in my only mock the other day. Same with bennett ot the cavs, but those were really my only good choices!

I loved this pick for them, although I was a bit surprised they passed on McLemore. I had this pick on my mock but switched it yesterday 🙁

Before the draft I thought Zeller was very underrated, now seeing him drafted by MJ and the Bobcats makes me think he would be a bust. All jokes aside, he would have a lot of playing time since Bobcats have a terrible frontcourt and none of their bigs can score, but being a fan I would’ve loved him going to a good team, especially OKC, that could’ve really develop him as a stretch 4 and help him to reach his full potential as a pick’n roll defender. Anyways the pick might make sense for Bobcats too, especially if they’re able to get Wiggins or Parker next year, or whoever’s going to be their franchise player, something Zeller can’t be.

They’re probably the team that could’ve use McLemore the most, but I don’t understand people liking Noel more than Zeller: Noel has question marks about his health, can’t score and he’s very skinny. I read everywhere he has so much potential, but I don’t see him being better than Larry Sanders, he’s got no offensive talent, so I don’t see where all the upside is. Also, I don’t know how much Charlotte could’ve used that kind of player after drafting Biyombo 2 years ago.

This pick is OK, but I got to agree with JMARG25, taking Zeller when Noel and McLemore were available is a big call. It’s tough to project what Zeller will be in the NBA since the majority of his scoring in college was around the hoop and in the NBA he may be asked to stretch the floor more (something he didn’t do in college). His struggles with length in college are well documented but in the NBA the 3 second rule and different offensive systems tend to open things up down low a bit more. My biggest concern with him is that he doesn’t rebound well, doesn’t block shots and doesn’t project to be much of a defender despite his athleticism. Maybe a C grade pick which is totally dependant on Charlotte’s ability to develop Cody, something they’ve not proven to be great at with other prospects.
