I am not really crazy about Noel or MCW as prospects but nobody will deny they have immense potential. What I like is they decided to get out of mediocrity. I would rather have them lose 60 games next year and in 5 years be in position to win a title then win 40 games a year for the next 5 years. Wiggins would be worth a winless season in my mind. The Sixers need something to jumpstart the franchise and although this caught me off guard after analyzing the situation I really like the move.

As for New Orleans this is a good move for them because they get a 23 year old all star point guard for two first round picks. Holiday is obviously more valuable than anybody they would have gotten in this draft so it is a good move to get them back into contention quickly and provide a proven player for Davis to run with.

This means no bynum returning. MCW and Nerlens are great to pair with each other and then they also have 2 picks next year. Sixers definitely made an interesting move and I think it was a good one, sometimes it is better to tank and restart than have a 7-10th team. When you have players that you can trade and get young assets.

Holiday is a proven point guard, so I would have liked to see the Sixers get something more back. One thing is for sure, the Sixers are going to stink next season.

I thought NO gave up a little too much. Holiday isn’t worth two lottery picks.

These trades have been all over the place and it is hard to keep track of who is going where but you are correct. I have to say this was a good haul with Noel, MCW and Ledo. They aren’t the type of guys who will come in right away and take the league by storm but they got 3 very high ceiling players which is something I always like in a draft class.

How could such a weak draft change the structure of the league so much.

Hate to see Jrue go but we are Rebuilding. This is Et team now. Him and MCW will be solid. We need shooting. Noel needs to get healthy and gain weight

So the Sixers got no 2nd rounders in the end? Yeah well

Dallas made some real nice moves getting Larkin and then Ledo. That could be a starting backcourt in a couple years.

Micheal Carter Williams, Nerlens Noel and Ricky Ledo along with Evan Turner, Thad Young, Hawes and Moultrie plus Cap space, NOT TO SHABBY…

I’m just shocked we traded Jrue Holiday for a Top 3 protected pick and Nerlens Noel (who I’ve been very critical of, weight and injury concerns plus lack of offensive polish)

Lets face it, The Sixers are probably going to be a bottom 5 team statically, they are going to put the ball in Turner’s hands a lot next season, if he doesn’t show signs of being a player they want around he’s gone too…We are going all in on the 2014 Draft Class, Wiggins or Parker would be amazing

A potential core of Micheal Carter Williams, Evan Turner, Wiggins or Parker in 2014, Nerlens Noel, Thad Young, Ricky Ledo, Spencer Hawes and Arnett Moultrie plus the New Orleans lottery pick and at least one Free Agent of worth makes this team a must watch franchise going forward IMO

A+ for Effort and creativity Sam Hinkie, he drafts 3 high upside players this year, while also saving cap space and placing us in better position for next years draft class and free agent crop…

For better or worst this deal will be remembered next year, if New Orleans makes the playoffs and Wiggins and Parker return to school GASP * we’ll look foolish for giving up Holiday for an Injured Noel and draft pick in the 14 to 20 range…

For all my criticism of Noel he was the best defensive player in the draft and if he puts on some healthy weight and hits the gym hard and recovers he’ll be a great Pf/C in the nba for a longtime, MCW is the guy I’ll be closely watching, I liked a lot of what I saw but I’m curious to see if he can develop a decent jump shot going forward, if he does he’s going to be the best Pg taken this year and could become a top 15 pg by the end of his rookie deal much like Jrue Holiday…

Even with the addition of Holiday and a healthy Eric Gordon I still don’t see NOLA making the playoffs in the stacked West. Of the teams that made the playoffs this year I would only expect one to drop out and that would be the Lakers. Take into consideration that teams like Minnesota and Portland should be improved as well and it isn’t looking like the Pelicans are a playoff team. They are probably in the bottom 5 of the west with Utah, Sacramento, Phoenix and Dallas (who has plenty of cap room to improve themselves). They will be improved but it will still take some time.

I love this move even though as individual prospects I had many question marks on MCW and Noel. One thing I don’t question is both guys have major upside. I like the swing for the fences approach…we will be striking out a lot next season but hopefully we can hit a homerun in the form of Andrew Wiggins.

I’m a Sixers fan from Philadelphia. We are in the rebuilding stage with Hinkie (GM) leading the way. The mad scientist who has a vision is at work so there’s a keen strategy behind his madness that fans in Philadelphia are totally on board. Both Noel or MCW are prospects with talent who will be developed. They are assets who will either stick with the Sixers or used a trade bait. Nevertheless, we managed to get both of them as lottery picks and looking to grab two more lottery picks in 2014.
