ItsVictorOladipoParticipantI want to be surprised but with the way Cleveland drafts I really shouldn’t be.
Could Canadians go 1st overall in back to back drafts?

NickWayne87ParticipantBut in a draft like this I can’t say it’s the wrong move. He has just as much chance or not to become a star as anyone in the lottery. The only head scratching thing is they have tristan at pf and varejao is still on there roster….unless they’re gonna try to make him a SF like another 6’8 240 pounder they drafted 10 years ago (which is NOT his game in any shape or form) a trade of some sort may still be on the horizon.

Mr. 19134ParticipantI love it and predicted it. While everybody else narrowed it down to Noels or Len I remenbered the Cavs taking Thompson and Waiters and at the time I liked them picks too. I think Bennet was the most special player in college last year.
Don’t worry about wether he’s a 3 or 4 because he’s gonna produce right away and has as high a ceiling as anybody in the draft.
Also Bennett provides the best combination of a pick and pop, pick n roll and transition big to pair with Irving and Waiters. No other player in the draft benefited Irving and Waiters as much as Bennett in this regard.
The Cavs just made Irving and Waiters as close to immpossible to guard as any guard tandem in the league.

draftmangtParticipantAll i know is if the Cavs don’t find a rim protecter we’re in for another long season that will land us back in the lottery.

Forte IVParticipantI honestly don’t understand it. He’s listed at 6’8″ right? He looked 2-3 inches shorter then Battier when he got interviewed. No way he is a 3. Always thought he could succeed at the 4, but they have Thompson already.

Cavaliers420ParticipantPretty shocked when it happened. Also confused now because Chris Grant is doing an interview and he is saying that Bennet is a PF and will play PF which I am alright with but, what about TT? Is our number one pick coming off the bench? Also They apparently expect Sergey to play SG and SF but no way can that guy guard some of the SF’s in the NBA I just can’t it happening.

Ghost01ParticipantIt’s so funny to me…I thought all along after last season that Bennett should be seriously considered number 1. But I did not at all see that coming.
And Cavs fans – you supposedly are set at 4/5 starting spots. THe one you aren’t set at, is SF, and settling for Porter would have been a mistake. TT could be moved, TT could end up not getting a ton better than he is now. It shouldn’t be viewed as a bad pick because of his presence.

OhCanada-ParticipantBefore Cleveland won the lottery I thought Bennett would be the best player available for them. Its smart for Cleveland to draft Canadian players as well, good strategy to retain talented players for the long term. Also very smart for future recruiting in free agency markets town the road. Also for those who keep saying Bennett is from Brampton…thats not true. Bennett’s from the hood, Jane and Finch Toronto he moved to Brampton when he was a teenager before playing in the states.
Canada is gonna crush you fools in 2016.

Forte IVParticipantHighly doubt we’ll get crushed when we’ll have 12 players equal to your best

rjb241Participantpersonally i hated the pick for the Cavs. If they really wanted Bennett why not trade down???? i think you could have easily picked him up at 5 maybe even lower. He may very well be the best player in this draft down the road although i don’t think he will, i was just shocked they took him at no. 1 when they coulda got some extra picks or something and still got their guy

HOops1562ParticipantI think they tried but failed to trade the pick …. no one wanted the pressure of drafting the #1 guy and didn’t see a need to give away assets for the #1 pick because the draft was weak anyways so why give away good parts for parts that may not help you down the road …
