    http://www.sactownroyalty.com/2013/6/27/4471590/sacramento-kings-nba-draft-rumors-ben-mclemore
Adrian Wojnarowski reports that the Kings are being aggressive in trying to move up in the draft with the likely target being Kansas Guard Ben McLemore.
Since kings offered tyreke a qualifying offer this must mean the kings expect tyreke to play point and put Ben at shooting gaurd. On paper it sounds like it should work, considering Ben doesn’t need the ball in his hands to be effective on offense and is pretty good at a catch and shoot roll.

James ham and sam amick are attesting to the rumors; sam thinks the suns are possible trade partners

Man what way to fuck everyone’s mock drafts up, huh?

I think he could fall to them at 7 but yeah that makes a lot of sense.

I don’t know if they can pull it off. But just the fact their name is out there, it shows the Kings are putting in work. Bill Belichick the coach of the Patriots once said…”The season is won on draft day”. I don’t think that applies strongly to the NBA, but i’ll be damned if I’m not impressed with my Kings trying to make moves.

How do they not have the ability to move up a few picks, if Ben goes at 2 or 3 maybe not but at 4,5, or 6 do you really think they could not offer to swap the 7th and Thomas for the 5th, or the 7th and 36th for the 5th? It all depends on how the first picks play out and how high the teams under the Kings are on the remaining prospects.

doubt the Bobcats or Suns have interest in IT since they have Kemba and Goran. Plus Minny has been dangling Derrick Williams, 9 & 26 to move up which is better than anything the Kings could offer

You could say the same thing about the Suns with Beasley and Williams…

I do not see how Williams+9&26 is better than Thomas+7 because there is always the chance the player they would take at 7 would be gone by nine.

Minny would trade with Charlotte & take McLemore. Charlotte would still be able to take Bennett or Zeller at 9 as long as Burke & McCollum stayed in the top 8

If McLemore falls to the Kings with the team in the state of disaster its in it will not help him mature as a player in my opinion. He needs a team that has the veteran presence and will maximize his talent. I am a supporter of Demarcus Cousins and I like tyreke evans(i think he needs a change of scenery) , but those guys are NOT the kind of leaders and people he needs around him.

Maybe it wont be so bad with Mike Malone? I have no idea but I think Sacramento is a sad place for guys with untapped potential

I seriously doubt that if the Kings move up to grab Ben that they will keep their current backcourt together. This new group of managment has been exploring ways to make some serious improvments beyond just overhauling the front office staff, this will not happen without some players changing zip codes soon.

So to say that it would be a horrible place for Ben to play is a bit premature.

This could be a sign that GMs are getting a vibe the teams with the first 4 picks are gonna gamble big and Dipo has moved ahead on their big boards. The first few picks could very well end up Len, Noels, Porter, Zeller, Bennett.

If the Suns value Dipo more they could easily acquire another assett like Jimmer or another pick and or unload a bad contract plus still get there man by trading back a few picks. I’d love to see Beasly end up in Sac I think competition with blue chip prospects in Evans and Cousins
Beasley still has the potential to turn into an Al Harrington type scoring forward.
