strobox88ParticipantFiring Mike D’Antoni is about their only shot at keeping him. He’s stated the reason why he might want to leave is because he doesn’t think D’Antoni’s coaching style suits his game. That’s also been a reason why Houston is falling behind Dallas for him as Houston plays a similar style to what Mike D’Antoni uses.

Moon RiverParticipantI am so sick of this guy. As a Lakers fan, I am torn. Do you fire D’Antoni and keep him or S&T? This guy makes me sick to my stomach, but I think you have to keep him.

esperanzafleet69Participantmike dantoni is a terrible coach, his only sucess came from running a phoenix team that had nash, joe johnson, shawn marion, and amare stoudemire. coaches dont win games, players do. obviously you keep the superstar player.

jonus grumbyParticipantBulls:
Boozer + anyone else (except Rose). I know there is a lot of love for Noah but getting rid of the Boozer contract would make it a deal for me. Lakers would likely need to add a sweetner to get the salaries to match up. By sweetner I mean a player who is not on a terrible contract

Velvet HoopParticipantLet’s trade one of the worst defensive “post” players in the league who is aging and overpaid for one of the say 5-8 true centers in basketball who was completely misused in LA last season.
Must be a Bulls fan.
Lol at “Lakers would likely need to add a sweetner to get salaries to match up.” Yeah, they could try sweetning by removing Boozer and adding better players + pick who the Lakers might actually want.

lestweforget23ParticipantI always liked Dwight Coward going to the Chi, unfortunately with today’s sponsor heavy NBA, Addidas made their opinions known…They don’t want their two biggest NBA athletes on the same team, so no matter how much you want it, it’s not going to happen.

Memphis MadnessParticipantThe Lakers should trade him to the Clippers for Blake Griffin, picks, and young assets (Bledsoe hopefully).
Blake and Pau would be more effective inside next year. Bledsoe would be a HUGE help on the perimeter.
Nash, Kobe (when he gets back), with Bledsoe off the bench would be solid. Then they have Earl Clark, Blake Griffin, and Pau Gasol on the front line.
If I were the Lakers I would also try to get into the first round. Maybe they can swap picks in this deal too. Swap the Lakers 48th pick for the Clippers first round pick at 25.
If I were the Lakers I would even send a future second round pick to the Clippers to make this deal work.

PyronParticipantI know one guy in particular who’d want Dwight to stay. My old barber cuts his hair and other NBA players when they go to LA.
Dwight even gives him free tickets to Lakers games… lucky guy! He even gave him 2 tickets to the All Star game this year.. urrrrgh!!0 - Posted on: Thu, 06/27/2013 - 6:46am #807004

MopgrassParticipantThey could trade Pau, but they won’t take on big money that runs through next year (or so Kupchak says). That means they’d probably have to trade with a team that has big expiring contract and there really aren’t that many of those expiring this year.

lestweforget23ParticipantI lived downtown Orlando, right next to the NEW stadium they built this guy, and watched him tear that city apart. I cannot believe that he is cannibalizing another team. I am so tired of hearing “He wants this” & and “He wants that”…doesn’t like playing with Kobe? Are you kidding me, the guy is a champion, a gold medalist, and one of the greatest players in history…& Im not even a Kobe fan. At what point to GM’s start to get concerned about going after this guy? What do you wanna bet he pulls the same move he pulled on us in Orlando? He’ll take that money and THEN ask for a trade. That being said, D’Antoni was a DUMB hire, and I think we all know that. He needs to go, period. The only real silver lining to this is that Andrew Bynum was damaged goods, and the Lakers knew it. Now, trade options…
Rockets – To be honest, it seems like he WANTS to be there (until he has complaints later in the year, apparently he thinks winning just happens. If the Rockets want him, Lin or Asik will have to be included because of their contracts. D12 has said he wants to play with Asik, so I’m guessing Lin gets thrown in (big Chinese fan base in LA). I’d assume the Lakers would be looking to take every bit of young talent from them as well, so Thomas Robinson is a given, probably Motiejunas and Terrance Jones as well. If this is the case, the Lakers will have to take back at least one other bad contract (insert Fracisco Garcia).
No other trade options because Dwight Coward has proven in the past that he will force himself to where he sees fit, and its going to be the Rockets if it’s not the Lakers. The Clips aren’t going to give up a combo of Blake Griffin and anyone, at this point it would be silly…

Tongue-Out-Like-23ParticipantThe thing is, with him not wanting to sign, the Lakers have NO leverage left. They can’t get Griffin/Bledsoe and picks because of the lack of leverage. The Clippers know he doesn’t want to resign so at this point, teams can get him for pennies on the dollar

laarethekingsParticipantHoward says Dallas, How is the Lakers any different from them? After next season the Lakers have two players on the books Howard and Nash. Thats it! They could mold this team around Howard and have a new run at Chips. The guy can’t see in front of his nose.
Him and James are in the same boat for me now. At least Bron did it the right way and just left.
Could Howard really leave two teams back to back years? It’s a joke
