As far fetched as it may seem, I like it because no one has him as a dark horse #1 pick.
What are your thoughts?

I like Oladipo a lot but Bill Simmons is out of mind if he thinks he’s going #1. If Oladipo goes #1 I’ll take two shots. (We play draft day drinking games every year.)

I really don’t like Victor Oladipo as the #1 pick in the draft, especially if Cleveland holds onto the pick because they already have Dion Waiters at the SG spot, and Dipo is no small forward.
However, there are plenty of teams that love Victor Oladipo, and I would not be shocked to see him go as high as #2 overall, depending on who is selected #1 overall.

I don’t see him going #1 unless someone trades for the pick. The three guys Cleveland are probably considering are Len, Noel, or Porter.

Love Oladipo as a prospect but Simmons is no better than you are I at evaluating talent. Last year he dismissed Dame Lillard because he went to a small school and spent 4 years there. Simmons makes his decisions purely on emotion or if it’s easy to make an analogy to a TV show. That said, Oladipo to the Cavs would be very intriguing. Part of me hopes he’s right.

The Cavs are a rebuilding team that will take the best player available in their eyes. Dion Waiters isn’t a star, and IMO Victor Oladipo and Ben Mcclemore are upgrades over him.

  No they’re not. I’d bet that neithor Mac or Dipo even average double digits as a rookie let alone the near 15ppg Waiters put up. I can’t wait to see Mac try guarding Waiters next year…

    You and me have gone back and forth on Doin Waiters. Well see who is right next season. Lol
    Waiters needs the ball in his has to be decent, but Kyrie has it a lot. These two guys do not need the ball in their hands to be successful. Mac can play off the ball/good D and Dipo can be a lock down defender bare minumum.

Bill Simmons really doesn’t know what he’s talking about. He’s a good writer, but I don’t have a lot of respecting for his talent evaluation abilities.

In ’09 we agreed to take a shot for the position number. We figured Earl Clark was a 4 in the Suns system. I was in the backyard yackin by the time Jeff Teague got drafted, tough day..
Since I went to Loyola Marymount University I take a shot every time a WCC player gets drafted. (I counted Orlando Johnson last year since he started his career at LMU.) Olynyk is my only sure thing this year so I’m doing Pac-12 players as well and always a shot for the Suns picks.
Won’t be posting during or after the draft for obvious reasons.

Cavs are great at doing the unexpected. Oladipo is the best defender in this class. Mike brown being a defensive minded coach may be after him

i also call it, Oladipo will be the number 1 pick!! i don’t know which team he will go to but he is going number 1. a lot showing interest in him and someone will trade up for him!!
