NBA trade rumors: Cleveland Cavaliers offer Pelicans No. 1 pick for Greivis Vasquez, No. 6 and 2014 first-rounder
Picking up Vasquez and having number 6,19,31,33 they can probably package anything to still get Len/Noel whoever falls.

Chilbert arenasParticipantI don’t think the Cavs are sold Len or Noel, otherwise they wouldn’t be trading the pick. Also that 2014 pick has to be protected.

IndianaBasketballParticipantI wouldn’t do this if I’m the Pelicans.
The guy they want could end up being right there at 6.

aramboneParticipantcould cleveland be targeting karasev at 6?

druneave3ParticipantYea possibly. That would be crazy though. I’ve heard several people say that people think they might have to go higher than 13 and Dallas for him.

JCliff24ParticipantIf Cavs are unsure on Noel/Len they probably have mixed feelings on both. Chances are one falls.
There are so many rumors to keep track of but if they pulled them all off Cavs could be in amazing position.Kyrie/Vasques
Waiters/Ellington
Karasev If Dallas were to accept 31,33 and Cavs take on Marions contract(http://www.fearthesword.com/2013/6/26/4467710/nba-draft-rumors-cleveland-cavaliers-trade-sergey-karasev-dallas-mavericks)
Tristan Thompson/Thomas Robinson (Cavs in talks to acquire Robinson for #19
Varejao / #6 pick (best center available Noel/Len)My apologies if it seems like fantasy land but any of those trades could happen so I included them all.
Would be a very exciting young core.0 - Posted on: Wed, 06/26/2013 - 12:33pm #806356

DolanCareParticipantThe Pelicans have no reason to do this. Even if their 2014 draft pick was top 10 protected I still wouldnt do it.

Wahoo757ParticipantSure they have a reason to do this, and it has everything to do with Alex Len. He’d be a pretty good compliment for Anthony Davis and allow him to slide to the 4. It’s a bit much in terms of the Cavs’ asking price, but I don’t think it’s something the Pelicans wouldn’t at least entertain.

DolanCareParticipantI’m a huge Len fan and think he’ll be one of the best players from this draft. But lets not lose our heads. Vasquez while a defensive liability is a quality player who could play significant minutes even for a contender. And next years draft could very well have all-star talent at the 12th pick.

strobox88ParticipantI wouldn’t do this if I was New Orleans. With the roster they have, they’ll likely end up with a top 5 pick next year in a draft where there are franchise prospects. They can add a good piece at 6 this year and wait for a chance at one of a few prizes in the 2014 class.

KHAM83ParticipantI have to think they really want Len, however taking away Vasquez, and certainly not taking a pg at 1, they have a huge gapping hole at pg. We all ages Rivers isn’t a pg. Maybe mine Gordon to Phoenix for their pick at 5 plus others and turn around and move that for #1 for Len, and get Burks or MCW at 6.

Bmore_DCParticipantWhy does it seem like Cleveland is so desperate for a big guy? Varejao was putting up all-star caliber numbers before he got hurt, and Thompson really started playing like a legit starter late in the season…Im sorry but i wouldnt pick Noel OR Len #1…
The problem is, who else is really worth the #1 pick? Im sure theyd love to trade the pick for more players/picks but honestly, who would do that? The Cavs are in a weird spot because they cant get equal to greater value for the #1 pick.
I think they should just take Porter or trade the #1 pick for an established small forward veteren.

JCliff24ParticipantCavs are desperate for a big man for 2 reasons.
1. Andy is fabulous (14.1 and 14.4/per game) but is constantly injured.
2. The more important reason, they need a rim protector. They were one of 2 teams in the league who did not have someone average at least 1 block per gameAndy is a great hustle player who makes all the small things happen but teams don’t fear him.
