Moon RiverParticipantThat comment stood out to me. Of course anyone can retire at anytime, but is Pop seriously contemplating retirement?

Moon RiverParticipantDuncan will earn $10 million in the upcoming season and $10.4 million in the following season. First, wow is that a deal for the Spurs and second, I suspect he will return.

chall23ParticipantIn 2011 there was a very intriguing prospect named Jan Vesely, he was drafted 6th by the Wizards. I was always impressed with the way he could run the floor for a 6″11 international prospect, pretty much from the beginning of his time with the wizards it has been rough for him to adjust to the NBA and hasn’t gotten consistent playing time since the end of his rookie year (which he actually put up pretty good numbers over that stretch). Now that he’s buried on the Wizards bench, the Spurs should give them a call. If anybody can get the potential out of Jan I feel like Pops the coach (assuming he doesn’t retire) the spurs could offer their first round pick this season and maybe one of their back up point guards, because let’s not fool ourselves when AJ Price is on the floor, his team pays the “price.” I feel like the Wizards may accept this so they can get rid of paying the 6th overall picks salary if they don’t feel like he will be an Impact player this season. This trade will also give the Spurs an athletic high flyer to run with Tony Parker which could add another dynamic to the Spurs offense. Just a thought!

sportzryanParticipantAs a wizards fan, I reallllly hope they can trade him and get anything in return, that kind of deal would be a steal for us. I know you said it would be a great deal for the spurs, and it could potentially be if somehow Pops can turn vesely around and get the most out of his abilities… but from what I have seen watching him for two years and sitting courtside at a few of those games… He does not have NBA abilities. Period. All he can do is run for a big guy. He does not have good hand-eye coordination, he can’t catch or pass the ball well, he is a worse dribbler than even JaVale was (neither should EVER dribble the ball, not even once) he has ZERO shooting abilities unless he his so wide open that its a practice shot (I can make shots like that too) and he is not strong or tough on the inside. He seems like a nice guy who would be willing to work hard, but atleast from what I’ve seen of him here in Washington, he is not an NBA player.
And to make it worse… my brother and friends and I all saw this coming 3 years ago. Before they drafted him we all predicted that Ernie the dumb GM would draft this foreign guy, and he would come here and suck, and that we should say “i told you so.” and that exactly happened. I don’t know why its so easy to predict Ernie screwing up and going NOOOOOO on draft day when he drafts a guy like vesely, but if we can trade him now for ANYTHING in return.. I will be happy. I wish him the best and that he gets the most out of his potential.. but *sighhh* i don’t see it

TyroberParticipantI thought he was going to be an excellent player when he was drafted, but he hasn’t looked anything like we thought he would. Sometimes a simple change of scenery can do the trick for a player.

CavFanPRParticipantYea that’s a good trade for both teams. The wiz have really hurt Veselys confidence, he needs a fresh start and what better than with the spurs?
