Beard13ParticipantNow that Smart has returned to school and assuming the magic pick in the top 2. The consensus was Smart to the magic. Who should they go with now? McLemore, Nerlens Noel, reach for Trey Burke, or somebody else? I think orlando should go with the BPA on the board making the pick between McLemore or Noel and filling in that point guard need next year

lockdownDI think Trey Burke will end up a top 3 player in the class, so I’d go with him.

Beard13ParticipantI have Burke currently ranked as the #6 player in this class. I really hope somebody’s stock can skyrocket during combine and workouts. Cause i don’t believe in reaching for players

strobox88ParticipantI still don’t believe Smart has officially announced his decision; words out of his own mouth from yesterday are the best source we have until he officially makes his decision.

cryan03ParticipantTrading down a couple of picks to a team that really will be desperate for Noel, McLemore, Potter and picking up an additional first rounder in the process..maybe next year? Since next year is considered a much stronger draft class.

halfdecayedParticipantMeh, I say they should go for Mclemore now.. if he’s gone, Im not sure, reach for Trey Burke I believe.. They might also take a look at Shabazz and Oladipo

KHAM83ParticipantIn my opinion, Smart returning to OK State doesn’t change the Magic’s draft board much, other than possibly now a team drafting one of their top choices ahead of them, when they may have well drafted Smart. I am not a fan of Smart at all. Unless he develops a shot and plays the 2, I think he’ll be a bust as a top lotto pick. Yes the Magics need a guard, but again, Smart is way overrated in my opinion. My choices would have been Noel, Mclemore, Bennett in that order. Vucevic is their center now and for the future, but he can use defensive help. Noel I think will thrive playing alongside him on the weak side. If not, McLemore to man the 2, and can play behind Afflalo and learn to be a better version of Afflalo. Imagine an athletic Afflalo. Bennett is my next choice. Not the defensive presence Noel is, but I think he will be much better than he showed in college. I think he’ll become a better, more athletic Milsap. If they are not in position to get either one, they should just draft the BPA regardless of position. A team like the Magics, rebuilding and not very good, they just need as much talent as possible. Get depth, develop players, and have trade assets that can be moved for the right player later on.

Puregreen5ParticipantI’d trade down from #1 or #2, for multiple Draft picks and Draft, Burke and then either Shabazz or Giannis Adetokunbo, with my second Lotto pick.

KHAM83ParticipantYoull need a team with two lotto picks to trade with, which you currently do not have.
Another reason NOT to draft Burke- is next year’s draft. Fill out another position, again I say PF. The Magics will yet again be a team with a pick within the top 3-5 picks. Since many here believe Smart was the answer, either he or Andrew Harrision would be available for them. Wiggins and Parker are obviously the top two picks, Orl will be in position to take either pg next year. Unless of course, they get #1 and Wiggins shows that he can play the 2 in the league.0 - Posted on: Tue, 04/16/2013 - 8:50pm #763710
laarethekingsParticipantTo me it’s Trey Burke or Nerlens Noel. It has been a two to three year rebuild job anyways. Next years draft has some super star power in it. I like Noel and Burke as great number 2’s on a team. I would most likely go with Burke. The guy can play ball. Knows how to win.

BigMac12111ParticipantGet the really good side-kick with this pick and try to get the main guy next year. I also agree that it should be Burke or Noel, and I would pick Burke as well.

Mr. HookShotParticipantI think they should opt for Noel: he can play as PF together with Vucevic (as C) as their frontcourt. Vucevic can shoot it, but does lack some athleticism, which is exactly what Noel brings to the table.

d.roseParticipantI believe they will take Trey Burke with the No.2 pick
If they win the lottery they will take Noel
