As the season come to a close, as the draft gets closer, the questions is in the upcoming draft who should the pistons draft?

Personally, I would draft Alex Len. Generally speaking assuming that Drummond and monroe would be starting next year consistently. We don’t have a legit scoring big man who can score off the bench ala Mehmet Okur. Also, I like the tenacity that Len plays with. He works would work well with either Drummond or monroe (pick and pop). Personally, Slava isn’t cut to be the first center off the bench(it irritates me how he pump fakes everytime he gets the ball). Jerebko and Len would be thet first bigs of the bench..assuming maxiell doesn’t come back. Finally, (if will bynum comes) back he would be a good pick and pop/roll combo with Drummond/Len/Bynum due to Len ability to hit the jumper (something we don’t have with monroe yet)

If Len is taken between the 5-9 range, the next person I would go after would be Muhammad. Pistons need another scoring sf. Personally, I think that Singler is overrated at shooting. Middleton proving to be more valuable than singler as the first sf off the bench next season. We can slowly bring muhammad along and could potentially be starting by.

I think they have their front line of the future and have too many other holes to draft a backup center in the top 10 now. Maybe Muhammad, Oladipo, to fill their wing concerns

    Muhammad, Porter, or Burke

    Muhammad- need a scoring wing
Porter- need a scoring 3 but Otto has more size for a SF than Shabazz does which could very well influence that decision
Burke- with Calderon possibly leaving via free agency, they could look to draft a distributed to replace him and keep B. Knight at SG.

I know a lot of people would disagree with me but I think we should get either Bazz or Porter, then trade Monroe for like a #6 or 7, which in this draft is possible, and draft Anthony Bennett. Simply put, I don’t think Monroe and Drummond will work well together in the long run, and Benett would be the perfect compliment to Drummond

I agree Monroe and Drummond are not a great fit next to each other, I think they both need the low post to themselves, but Monroe for 6/7? in this draft? That’s terrible. Monroe is a proven player, well on his way to being an all-star (might be already if he was on a good team) and trading him for a unproven rookie who’s upside isn’t very great.

Simply, I don’t think anyone in this draft will be better than Monroe. Not a knock on the class, because I think Monroe is going to be a great player for years to come.

Are the only options as far as I’m concerned. The Drummond and Monroe pairing is a good one and I don’t think they should mess with that. They have win and PG issues and Burke is really the pick I like

    Porter or maybe Burke.

I posted something the other day about maybe doing a sign and trade with the Kings if we don’t land Porter. Trade our lotto pick for Tyreke Evans. He can play the point like he did in his rookie season and Knight can play the SG, then they can swap defensively as Knight would be able to guard a PG and Evans a SG.

the monroe and drummond front court is looking to be pretty damn lethal in the future… monroe doesnt need to dominate the post to score and drummond doesnt either already… they compliment each other so well… not to sure how teams are gnna stop this front court in the future

Trey Burke. They need a true PG. Their gluttony of combo guards has obviously not worked. They need a guy who can create, get easy buckets for Monroe and run the pick and roll with Drummond.

A big wouldn’t make any sense for their first pick. Assuming Monroe and Drummond play 36-38 minutes a game in a year or two, your capping the third big at 20 minutes a game….and thats if you can afford to go big against all teams .You can eventually trade the weakest link but won’t get fair value.

The Pistons need a PG, Brandon Knight is not it, man up, move on, and draft a real one. Burke or Smart are the only ones I’d consider at around 9 though. Fall back plan take Bazz. Their draft is very straight forward.

I’d go with Burke. I read somewhere that Calderon won’t be back next yr for them, so Detroit might as well get their true PG now. 5th pick for Burke sounds about right. I am very high on him.

they would be very lucky to get Porter but he will prolly be gone which leaves us with the 30 yr old Shabazz. Would love it if somehow they could package something and make a move for Wilson Chandler, this guy is primed to be a star and he is from Detroit. Come on Gores get this done.

If they land the first pick, it’ll be McLemore. If they land the 2nd or 3rd pick, it’ll be Smart or Porter. If they stay where they are, it’ll be Burke. I don’t see them going with Noel, Len, or Bazz.
