IknoBall12ParticipantIf he doesn’t believe he’s healthy why risk it? And I’ve never heard if a player who’s missed the entire season and returned in the playoffs to take his team to the championship. That just doesn’t happen. Get healthy and raise hell next year

druneave3ParticipantHe isn’t playing this year. The Bulls have a really good chance at making it to the ECF with the current squad anyways. Probably will be Indiana but we will see.

J_01ParticipantIf the bulls stay in 5th they’re not gonna make the ECF. They’re gonna have a hard time beating Brooklyn in the first round and no way they beat Miami in a 7 game series. With or without Rose they’ll have a hard time advancing in the playoffs this year since with him he’s not gonna be 100% game ready and without him they’re gonna struggle to score especially in the playoffs where the need for a go-to scorer is even more important.

HitsterParticipantI was just wondering how much of a wildcard factor would a possible D-Rose return be to the Bulls in the play offs. If he could find his form quickly they would go from being 5th/6th team to maybe the 2nd best team out East on paper.
Also I’m wondering if the issue about rumors that D-Rose is possibly hesitating over returning could have a negative effect on the chemistry between him and his team mates. Say next season D-Rose is leading from the front and chides one of his team mates for doing something wrong and they turn round and say ” well you did a lot last season”. I’d hope this would not be the case personally.
Also if you want a total wildcard for Coach of the Year then I think Coach Thibs could be worth considering, getting his team to a winning season minus a true franchise player is no mean feat.

druneave3ParticipantNever said they would beat Miami, I think that goes without saying. Brooklyn is garbage. Bulls have beaten them 3 out of the 4 games this season. They swept the Knicks series. Brooklyn and New York don’t play defense. Yes the playoffs are different and the greater need for a #1 option but the East sucks. Several teams could make it to the ECF and the Bulls have just as good a chance as anyone.

J_01ParticipantSure they could make the ECF if they weren’t in the 5th seed which is what I said. As the 5th seed you have to get the past the 1 seed which is Miami so their chances of making it to the ECF this year is very low.

SnowtaParticipantI don’t think any of his teammates would ever come at him in the future if he didn’t come back this year. Other players realize that a star like D Rose should only come back when he is 100% ready and it’d be stupid to come back before that and risk problems in the future. The only people complaining about him not coming back are fans that don’t understand the situation.

IndianaBasketballParticipantEven though they just won’t say it… Derrick Rose isn’t returning this year.
I mean, what would be the point of returning at this point? You need a month or two to shake off the rust from this injury. He hasn’t played a game in 11 months. It would just be pointless to return during the playoffs where he’d probably only be playing 15-20 minutes per game anyway.

FastAndFuriousParticipantI kind of agree with Indiana, he’s so rusty, that it would kind of be a waste for him to come back in the playoffs, like if he isn’t going to play in these last couple of regular season games, why would the Bulls and D.Rose decide to suit him up in the playoffs when it counts the most? That’s backwards, if he doesn’t suit up in these final regular season games, I highly doubt he plays this season.

TallmanNYCParticipantNo chance he comes back. And if Noah is banged up, then the Bulls have no chance of getting past the Nets anyway. The squad that beat the Knicks last night in OT would just get abused by Brooklyn’s frontline. Even if the Nets had a bad shooting night, that would just mean Reggie would grab 25 boards.

Malik-UniversalParticipantI had changed my mind that rose should’ve played about last month after I said he shouldn’t… but now its useless.. I don’t ppl to give me that crap saying “he can shake off the rust now” or “he can gain his confidence back now by playing” or “hes already 100% healthy”… its basically a lost season for the bulls.. noah is hurt and rose isn’t coming back… if hes not confident now… then whats the point of playing when their literally not going anywhere in the playoffs… he isn’t gnna shake off any rust if hes just gnna play about 20 mintues or so… and play less than 10 playoff games… its d-rose were talking about not kirk hinrich

Ghost01ParticipantI don’t understand “He doesn’t know if he’s ready” when doctors are telling you that he’s healthy. He’s been healthy enough for doctors to be telling him to play for over months now. Clearly, he just wanted to take this whole year off regardless, and played the entire fan base with this day-to-day non sense. He is definitely healthy at this point, he just won’t play.
And it’s a shame. The Bulls compete with the Heat just as good as anyone in the east, and can most definitely beat anyone else in the conference. But he’s just not going to come back.
