festar35ParticipantWith only a handful of games left in the season I can’t help looking forward into the next one. All though my Pacers will be in the play-offs there is still the question of what they will do this coming summer.
So my question is what to you want to see your team do when their season is over?
Indiana Pacers:
1. Re-sign David West
2. Trade Granger for a bench scorer and PG depth
3. Re-sign Hansbrough
4. Draft Doug McDermott (we need a shooter off the bench)To me the Pacers only need to bring back the pieces they have this year and bolster the bench with a scoring 6th man (potentially could be Orlando Johnson), however using Granger as trade bait to acquire a scorer and a passing guard would be good.

BenchWarmerParticipantJust amnesty his dumbas$. Ive had enough of him.
0- Posted on: Fri, 04/12/2013 - 7:59am #762304

Brew Meister SmithParticipantDisliking Bargnani is not the issue to me. I agree he has to go, but saving the amnesty this long has actually been a smart move. Wasting it on the likes of Bargs just out of spite is not the way to go. Getting nothing out of Bargs is a waste.
I’m actually certain they can get some value out of Bargnani even at this point. They will just have to be patient and may have to take on a much worse contract for a while to do it. This is where the amnesty would better be used.
0- Posted on: Fri, 04/12/2013 - 12:07pm #762389
BenchWarmerParticipantYeah I know. Haha of course try to trade him but I wouldnt be mad if they amnestied him.
Also I’m pretty sure only players signed prior to the 11-12 season are amnesty eligible0

druneave3ParticipantStill rumblings of the Boozer-Bargs trade going on this summer. I think that is the only deal that can be had if you want to dump him.

0 - Posted on: Thu, 04/11/2013 - 7:24pm #762201
chris_wuzhereParticipant1. Draft a high reward player regardless of risk: Alex Len (great size, length , mobility and touch) or Shabazz (could be a great 2way player and develop into Luol Deng or could be 1 dimensional gunner like nick young)
2. Trade Gordon for depth at PG/SF/SG (underachieving we should get rid of him while there is still interest. First call should be to PHX since we know they wanted him)
3. Trade Lopez or Vasquez for more depth if we can’t get an upgrade in the draft (both overachieving and are better backups than starters so we should sell high)
4. Spend some cap money on at least one impact player regardless of position in FA (pekovic, Korver, tyreke, Jefferson, Redick, Jennings, and EVERY TEAM IN THE NBA HAS TO CONSIDER BYNUM)Don’t really who we get we just can’t put this same squad out there next season. I know Unibrow wants to win soon and will wanna see his small market team competing to get players in the offseason.
0 - Posted on: Thu, 04/11/2013 - 7:28pm #762202

DaGuywhodidurmaParticipantLakers. trade gasol for some pieces that better fit
if Dwight resigns what do you guys see dallas,Houston and Atlanta doing? I’m sure they all need a center and the Lakers have a spare one in gasol. he fits in great with all those teams.
what do you guys think the Lakers could get for gasol? I’m sure minny wouldn’t mind trading their pick considering they have young talent already and need to start winning.
as a laker fan I’m excited to see what direction the FO goes this offseason regardless of how well the team does in the playoffs.

BasketBalAllanParticipant1. Stay the Kings.
2. Clean house in almost all managment type positions (front office, coach, ect)
3. Make trades to consolidate talent (too many prospects not enough production)
4. Spend money on everything (chase FA’s, proven gm’s and coaches)
5. Draft BPA not for positional need.
6. Put in a strict system/ style of play (please be defense focused)
7. Stop trying to save money on every damn thing…
8. Hire me…<__>0 - Posted on: Thu, 04/11/2013 - 8:47pm #762213

Tight ButtholeParticipant1. Let all free agents walk
2. Draft Noel or Porter followed by the BPA with remaining picks
3. Determine whether Byron Scott is the long term coach
4. Learn how to play defense
5. Create a minutes system so the same players aren’t always getting hurt
6. Sign a back up PG/SF
7. Get Kyrie in the weight room and a glass of milk0- Posted on: Fri, 04/12/2013 - 8:32am #762314
8)I’d keep Speights
9) Trade Verajoa for a future pick
10) Give Zeller a $1,000 McDonald’s gift card and make him use it all this offseason.
11) Make Zeller join a gym0
- Posted on: Thu, 04/11/2013 - 9:01pm #762216
LA12Participant1. Try to in some way keep Hickson. If he asks for more than 5 to maybe 6 million, let him walk.
2. Add depth through the draft. Maybe a spark plug off the bench like McCollum or maybe possible Muhammad if he falls that far or maybe Kelly Olynyk/Mason Plumlee to provide some much needed depth down low with their first round pick.
3. Depends on who they pick with the first picks. They have two picks in the second round so a little something like this.Option 1: They pick a scorer with first pick.
– Draft Isiah Austin
– Draft Seth CurryOption 2: They pick a big man with first pick
– Draft Archie Goodwin
– Draft Kenny Kadji4. In the free agency, look for a quality starting center, some one like Nikola Pekovic if possible. A HUGE stretch would be throwing a big contract to Al Jefferson or Bynum and seeing what happens with that (just like they did with Hibbert), even though it is really unlikely.
In the end, basically just find a starting caliber center and add some depth in some way. Keeping Hickson AND finding a starting center could be a huge win, but is very, very unlikely.
0 - Posted on: Thu, 04/11/2013 - 9:15pm #762217

DipoTimeParticipantThis what I think the Rockets should do. An I honestly think it could happen too.
Try to do a sign and trade with Dwight. Idk how the contracts match up but the package would be centered around Asik, a first rounder, and two of the young forwards. Some combination of Parsons, Motie, TJones, and TRob. I personally think they would want Parsons for sure. I think the other would be TRob. He has the bigger contract to match salaries and he would provide great energy, toughness, and athleticism off the bench to counter Gasols skills and finesse.
Second they should sign Josh Smith. Everyone knows him and Dwight are buddies. I think that and the fact that they are already a playoff team with Harden could convince him to sign for a reasonable price instead of the max.
Their lineup would be Lin, Harden, Delfino, Smith, and Howard. Backups would include Patrick Beverly, TJones, Motie, and Greg Smith. They would probably target a couple shooters in free agency. Guys like Korver and Belinelli. If I’m not mistaken isn’t Anthony Morrow a free agent as well as a good friend of Smith and Howard? There is another good option. This team in a year or two could be amazing and could challenge the Thunder every season for West’s Best
0- Posted on: Thu, 04/11/2013 - 9:38pm #762220

Tongue-Out-Like-23ParticipantNo way we trade Chandler Parsons.
We’re paying him 800k this season, 920k next season, and 960k the following. He is, by far, the most under-paid professional athlete in the top-4 sports in the country.
He’s a legit 15-5-3 player that can play either forward position and defends the 1-4 while shooting a high percentage. Those kind of guys get paid HUGE bucks. For his production, you would have to pay 8m-13m a year. (i.e. Luol Deng, Nicolas Batum)
0- Posted on: Fri, 04/12/2013 - 7:14am #762295

HaleParticipantI’d argue LeBron is more underpaid honestly. But paying less then a million for what he gives you is a ridiculous bargain.

Sign Josh Smith. Sign Jose Calderon for cheap. Try to sign Eric Maynor.
Look to trade Lin and his poison pill contract.

pistonkidParticipant1. re sign calderon
2. Trade stuckey & knight to spurs for patty mills, cory joseph & danny green
3. draft Otto Porter or Anthony Bennett
4. DO NOT draft shabazz muhammad.

druneave3ParticipantYou should do some research on Isiah Thomas and his management/coaching history.

mookieParticipantwhen he traded for marbury everyone loved that trade, who woulda thought marbury would turn crazy. remember he traded for jermaine oneal when he was in indiana, z-bo and j cross in ny. plus he has a great eye for talent…just go down the list of his drafts. yeah he made mistakes but because espn dont like isiah with magic being there people dont get an honest assessment of what isiah has accomplished.

Brew Meister SmithParticipantColangelo? If he stays they will probably look a lot like they do now next season. If he goes, which even I am hoping he does at this point, someone new might as well blow up a lot of what he has done and start over again.
A) Get into the draft in some way
B) Keep Lowry / JV / probably Ross/ probably Acey / A. Gray / J Lucas / Fields (have to)
C) Don’t jump the gun on the rebuild next time. If you can move Gay go for it.
D) Keep Bargs around until you can get something for him. Then move him. No amnesty!E) TANK IT TO GET A CHANCE AT ANDREW WIGGINNS (I did not always think this to be an option but now I say fine)
F) Get as much value as you can by trading Derozan and Amir – hate to do it but…that is all we got. Plus Amir has no tanking insticts. may screw things up there. Belongs on a winner.

JoeWolf1Bulls.
Resign Nate Robinson for a resonable price. I was very skeptical of Nate coming off a few lack luster years, but he’s been a great bench spark for the Bulls and his fearless style, quick crossovers and good outside shooting have really been a great asset for the Bulls. I really thought Nate was a bit of a downgrade from C.J. Watson, but he’s back to his old form and I hope he can find a home in Chicago.
Draft Jeff Withey in the first round to give you a legit backup center. Nazr is a great professional, but at his age, he isn’t good enough to be the backup C for a team hoping to go deep in the playoffs. Withey can guard the rim and be very disruptive in Thibs’ system. Then grab Will Clyburn in the 2nd round. I think the Bulls need to get a SG and a C in this draft. If Withey is off the board, grab KCP or Hardaway Jr. and a guy like Ohriaki or Kadji in the 2nd round.
Figure out a plan for Boozer. I don’t hate him, he’s still one of the better power forwards in the game, but if he’s your guy he’s your guy, but if he’s not…I think a guy like J.J. Hickson or Paul Millsap. Although neither one is an elite PF, as this FA class is weak in that area, I feel Chicago has to decide wether Boozer is the guy to build a championship team on, and if he’s not…trade him or amnesty him and try to get a guy who is younger.

The Scare Crow RisesParticipant1. Draft Shabazz Mohammed in the top 10, play him at Sg/Sf alongside Holiday and Turner
2. Let Nick Young, Dorrell Wright and Kwame Brown leave in free agency(saves the team roughly 10 million combined)
3. GIVE ANDREW BYNUM A BIG F U AND LET HIM WALK IN FREE AGENCY(saves the team another 15 to 17 million dollars)
4. Make a run at Dwight Howard in free agency 1st, if/when he declines target Pekovic 2nd, Big Al 3rd and lastly JJ Hickson 4th, worst case we start Hickson at Pf and Hawes at C, best case we sign Howard or Pek/Big Al to play C and let Thad start at Pf once again or trade him for a stretch 4
5. Sign Chase Budinger to a 4yr/12 million dollar contract, allow him to spread the floor for 18 to 24 minutes a game

1. Draft Ben McLemore, Marcus Smart or Trey Burke with our first round pick.
2. Buy out Hedo Turkoglu and Al Harrington
2. Don’t make any long term pickups in FA, keep our salary cap flexibility for 2014.
3. With our late second round pick take a risk, someone like Ricky Ledo or Adonis Thomas.Lineup for 2013-2014
PG Jameer Nelson/Marcus Smart
SG Arron Afflalo/E’Twaun Moore
SF Maurice Harkless
PF Tobias Harris/Andrew Nicholson
C Nik Vucevic/Glen DavisThis team should be terrible next year hopefully putting us in a position to grab Andrew Wiggins, Jabari Parker, or some other top prospect.
0 - Posted on: Fri, 04/12/2013 - 1:14pm #762408

Evan_MilbergParticipant1) Give John Wall the max deal he wants
2) If possible, re-sign Webster and Ariza
3) If Webster becomes too expensive to keep, draft a SF in the lottery or find a replacement in free agency. I’m not big on Muhammad, but he’d be worth a look at #8 (maybe trade down for Glenn Robinson III or trade up for Otto Porter).
4) Since they’re obviously going to let Barbosa go and AJ Price sucks, add a backup PG (maybe Canaan, Green, or Siva) in the second round or free agency.0 - Posted on: Sat, 04/13/2013 - 3:14am #762569
