Toronto16ParticipantLet’s see how Terrence Ross pans out first.

FreelanceScoutParticipantValanciunas and Drummond would have been a nice foundation to build this team from the inside out.

BouncyBallParticipantTotally agree, I wanted them to draft Drummond at the time of the draft like most Raptors fans and that frontcourt would have had the chance at becoming the best in the league a few years down the road. But with that said im totally happy with my boy Terrence Ross. He’s shown flashes of greatness this season and hopefully if he works hard this offseason he can become more consistent. He would be a perfect 6th man for the raptors backing up demar and rudy

kingofbumsParticipantlets not carried away he has shown nothing close to greatness unless you’retalking about dunks. hes only shown flashes of being a good nba player in the future but i dont see no greatness. drummond on the other hand has shown some flashes of greatness

Forte IVParticipantI see Drummond as more of a C, so I’m not sure. but then again Jonas does have a great overall offensive game so they could have probably worked good together.

FreelanceScoutParticipantIn my opinion if not for Bargniani I think they have drafted Drummond, I’m also a big fan of Ross I think he has a ton potential hopefully he will not have a marshon brooks type of a season next year. In order to develop him he needs playing time

Raef LaFrentzParticipantThe answer to the original question is obvious.
It’s a resounding yes.

T-Dot-BallerParticipantWell I believe Charlotte at this point wouldve also been thinking about the possibility of drafting drummond a potential franchise changer as compared to mkg (not a bad player by any means). When it comes to Toronto they got caught drafting according to need rather than best player on the board. Give it 2-3 years and we can really answer this question by seeing how t-ross and drummond both turn out.

KHAM83ParticipantHow would they work together? Defensively ya, either guy can be a great weak side defender, but offensively they will have their limitations. Jonas has a decent mid-range game, but decent for what you expect from a Center. I dont think he and Drummond would work out together.

thparadoxParticipantYES. YES. YES. For about 2 minutes during the draft I was ecstatic that the Raptors were going to get Drummond. It was the obvious pick.
What a completely boneheaded decision. I like Terrence Ross, but it was plain stupid to pick him ahead of Drummond.
It doesn’t matter if Valanciunas and Drummond play the same position. The Raptors were supposed to be rebuilding. You take franchise changing, superstar talent, when it’s available. Period.
Also, they knew that Terrence Ross and DeRozan could both end up as SGs. Then they proceeded to sign Landry Fields………..

torontoraptors10ParticipantThere were too many questions surrounding Drummond coming out of college. There was talk that he came out too early, maturity issues, can he handle the physical play, is he going to be a bust? A lot of questions and the Raptors’ went with the safer pick in Ross who is NBA ready but is not doing well in my opinion due to inconsistent playing time. I feel Casey has no confidence in him. With that being said, I do think the Raptors’ need a coaching change to bring out the most in Ross. Only time will tell, but I’m comfortable with the Raptors’ having Ross now because it can possibly make DeRozan expandable, which can lead to a trade to get a legit PF for this team.

313LOUDParticipantEverybody except new orleans and portland should have drafted Drummond…..could even argue that those teams should have.

GrandmamaParticipantEvery team that passed on him aside from New Orleans and Portland made a mistake

lalailaParticipantCharlotte , Washington, Cleveland all should have drafted him…
