the27guyParticipantHi all, I’m not sure if any of you here are basketball card junkies, like me, but something crazy is going on right now in the hobby. It’s becoming cool to collect again. This weekend News agencies are reporting that the second best T206 Honus Wagner (not even the really famous one) sold for over $2 Million! Now, go to eBay and check out the recent sell prices for Kyrie Irving high end cards. He already has a couple dozen cards that are selling for four figures! This is insane! For me the fun part of the hobby is the ability to monetize my sports hobby without truly gambling. I purchase something I like of a player that i think is under valued and hold until the time is right to to sell. I’ve had pretty good success. It’s nothing out f the ordinary to make a quick couple hundred bucks and occassionally a thousand or more…. Anyway, just interested in knowing if any of you draf junkies are into card investing…. and yes, it’s not a kids game anymore. It truly is investing.

BigChamp12ParticipantI dont know anything about trading cards and stuff… But when I did meet and take pictures with Grant Hill, Jerry Stackhouse, and Loy Vaught when they were with the Pistons. They each autographed their playing cards for me. The last time I took them outta my closet was probably about 8 years ago just to see if they were still there.

Puregreen5ParticipantI know what your talking about. A Kyrie Irving Prizm Gold #/10, sold raw for $5,000.00+ on EBAY! There’s a 1 of 1 TC Black Irving, on EBAY right now that someone is asking $19,999.99 for! I just sold my Paul George NT RPA 9.5 for $950.00 and I bought it for $160.00! I also bought a KD Exquisite RPA Gold #/35, that I sold for $4,300.00 (though its a 6-7 K card now) and bought for $997.00! I bought a Griffin NT RPA #/99 for $800.00 and sold it for $3,050.00. I love the Hobby! It became investments, when 2003-2004 Exquisite’s (LeBron, Wade, Bosh and Melo) got released. Someone in China would pay $150,000.00 for a Jordan Logoman, I’m not joking.
Here is my PC and a link to my photobucket, thought it might interest the OP:
