No surprise, but it is official now. Great catch for Kevin Ollie, now lets see what kind of group he can put together for 2014-15

He still might not get the minutes he wants because Ryan Boatright and Omar Calhoun are better players. They could play 3 guards like they did this year and will next year with Shabazz but if he wants to be the man I don’t know if he went to the right school.

I certainly don’t think Omar Calhoun is better then Rodney Purvis. Even if he was he’s 6’5, that’s plenty tall for a college wing.

If Boatright has a good yr next then he’ll probably leave. Purvis and Calhoun can play in the same back court.

I was thinking the same thing. Good chance that Boatright will be gone.

I really like this pick up for coach Ollie and a perfect place to play for Purvis. He is going to play for a guy that was a solid college and pro player. He was always look at as someone that would be a coach. For a kid like Purvis this is a nice situation.

There is room for the both of them in the backcourt. Calhoun Measure 6’6 in shoes two years ago at Lebron camp. He is one of those people who you don’t realize how tall they are until you walk up on them type of guys. I played AAU against him He is from Brooklyn I am from the Bronx so I have seen him enough. He is 6’6 on the court. Purvis is 6’4 in shoes. At 6’6 Calhoun can guard some 3’s on the college level. Purvis will take the 2 and if Boat is gone by that time. Then They will have Terrance Samuels at the 1 who is also in the 6’3 to 6’4 range and is a borderline top 100 recruit this year. Young boy is a bully point guard.Talk and strong and very fast in the open floor. Seen him play against aquille carr earlier this year and he didn’t fall for any of his fakes and played solid defense. The future is bright for UCONN.

very nice addition to UConn they have a lot of great guard play with Shabazz Ryan Omar and Rodney if DeAndre Daniels develops as I I think he will watchout for UConn and my aau teamate Kentan Facey who is very underrated
