don042488ParticipantPotential lottery picks Marcus Smart, Otto Porter, Anthony Bennett, and Shabazz Muhammad all got kicked out the tournament in the first round, while Noel and Alex Len didn’t experience the tournament… This is sad if you ask me…As a gm and owner, I want to invest in a young player who dealt with playing under pressure at the highest stage in college and did considerably well, none of those aforementioned players you can say did…Weak draft at it’s best

For_Never_EverParticipantThis college season has been one of the least interesting ones for me. I still think this class has more overall NBA talent then Kyrie Irving class though.

omphalosParticipantYeah it has been largely underwhelming; Bazz was literally the only prospect I was actively following, the rest bored me to tears. McLemore is just a shooter and Kansas aren’t a team I particularly like, Smart doesn’t really impress me and I’d seen Otto Porter and a couple of the other guys last year and came away unimpressed.
I have a passing interest in Kentavious Caldwell-Pope and Michael Carter-Williams but Syracuse is a boring team to watch with their 2-3 zone so I haven’t seen him much, and Georgia games are never played here.
It’s probably just because last year’s draft class was so choc-full of great prospects and star players that this season looks so meh.
People have been talking to me about how this is one of the best years for college basketball because you can’t pick a winner, but it’s because they are all equally bad/flawed, not because they are all great, so I don’t get what people mean really.
Does anyone think a strong showing from MCW would bump him back up the lottery?

machu46ParticipantI think he definitely could cement a place in the lottery with a good showing in the tournament, though I think at this point, most GMs probably have their mind made up on him. He is what he is. Might be the best/most creative passer in the country, great rebounder, great energy, great defensive potential. Shot is obviously a major work in progress, and he has to improve his ability to finish around the rim (I think getting physically stronger would help a lot with his finishing ability and his ball-handling ability), but he has so much potential, especially in today’s NBA where there’s so many undersized shooting guards, he’s a great fit next to them.
We’ll see what happens tonight with Syracuse. If they get past Cal, it could be a huge matchup with Indiana.

Does anybody think a guy has moved himself into the lottery with his tourney play thus far? I think PJ Hairston has.
Also thinking of how high Otto Porter could go in this draft and the season he had in the Big East, makes me wonder how good Mo Harkless would of been had he stayed for his sophomore year.

benny15Participantalthough technically correct, i wouldnt really refer to one game as tourney play. but i do agree he’s had a very passive game which is the biggest knock on him. he was a bit more assertive after being benched in the second half and hopefully that translates well against UNC.
interesting match later on with him being matched up against PJ Hairston and the tar heel has everything to gain with little to loose in that match-up. I dont want Ben to start playing hero ball, but i do want him to take the shots that are open to him.

I was reading an article on monday after the Tournament Seedings were announced….In the article 1 Assisant GM said after the tourney that he’ll know exactly the order the players will might go in..He said this year is the latest he’s ever said that for any draft…But After seeing how quick alot of the potential lotto picks were out of the tourney…I wonder how confused he still is? lmao….

JoeWolf1McLemore barely shot, last night. Sometimes it’s weird how passive he can be, but his shot isn’t broken and if he does slip, I doubt it’s past 7 or 8 because of his prototypical size and athletic ability for a SG and a sweet jumper. He can shoot so well and run the break that even a worst case scenario he’s a 14 or 15 ppg scorer in an NBA system where spacing is heavily emphasized. Even in his unimpressive games (like last night) he got 11 points on only 5 shots and sunk about 4 clutch free throws at the end of the game.
Plumlee had a great first game, he didn’t play down to Albany and with his athletic ability, if he really produces in the tourney he could break the top 10. This guy is going to make guys drool in the combine, so if his last few college games are very productive that’s just going to provide as a shot of confidence he’s ready for the next level.

strobox88ParticipantI think you’ll see rises in Cody Zeller, Victor Oladipo, Kelly Olynyk, James Michael McAdoo, Mason Plumlee and Seth Curry if they continue to play well in the tourney though the draft combine will be the deciding factor whether the stock translates for draft night.
