The LA Lakers just lost to the Wizards 103-100 after leading by as much as 18 in the second qtr. The Lakers really blew this one. The game was going well for them but they absolutely abandoned what was working for them, DWIGHT HOWARD. He finished with 20pts and 15rbs shooting 8-9 from the field and 4-5 from the free throw line. This is when I get upset with Kobe Bryant. Kobe didnt have a bad game, but he didnt have a great game either. He turned into a black hole in the fourth qtr. Dwight Howard didnt get a single touch in the fourth qtr. Kobe took 11 of the last 12 shots for LA. I dont understand it. Dwight, Jodie, and Metta were all shooting it good but he went ISO every single play. That’s all fine in the final 3 minutes, but you cant play the entire qtr that way. Keep playing team ball and executing like you had been doing the entire game. And people wonder why Dwight wont commit to LA…

Some of you may call it hating on Kobe…I simply call it holding him accountable. Just like majority of the wins, he carried the team… Tonight he took them down

I just cant get over the fact that he didnt pass the ball ONCE.

I didn’t see the game, but Kobe took 18 shots and handed out 11 assists. And I also know you are very disingenuous with your “give Kobe props when he earns it and diss him when he deserves it” talk. 19 out of 20 of your posts regarding Kobe is bashing him so I doubt you are always being fair when you criticize him.

Yes I bash Kobe, but I have reasonable points when I do. I never question his ability or his success, however I do question his shot selection because most of the times I dont feel that alot of his shots are the right ones to take. When the normal fan looks at Kobe make a tough shot falling out of bounds on two people, they think “Wow! What a shot!” But when I see that, Im thinking “He made the shot BUT Nash was wide open and Dwight had his man buried under the rim.” Its like Kobe does great things but its not always right for the success of the team. I think I’m fair, but honestly, I really just think that Kobe can do better than what he does.

As for tonight, the Lakers were up 16 after the first qtr. Kobe took 3 shots and had 5 assists that qtr. That’s a recipe for winning. The Lakers went into the 4th qtr up by 5 but loss by 3. Kobe actually took 10shots in the qtr and didnt have a single assist. It’s no explaining that other than selfishness or ego. I know he’s the closer and he’s going to get the big shots, but you cant start going hero ball with 12mins left in the game and you’re winning. The team didnt need that at the time, they were playing well, Dwight was playing damn near perfect. Kobe took him and the other teammates out of the game and it turned into Kobe vs the Wizards. I know you understand what I’m saying about THIS GAME. Not to mention Kobe didnt play a DROP of D tonight. Ariza 25!…..

Postgame, D’Antoni was infuriated. He dropped some comments that seemed directed towards Kobe. I dont have the links, but I’m sure you’ll see them

I was out to dinner with my girlfriend and they this game on tv. All these Lakers fans were at the bar screaming and cheering and eventually the bar man changed the channel saying “This game’s a rap” At that time they were up 20. When I came home and saw the final score I laughed so hard.

I watched the second half of the game and i have to say that Kobe didn’t really put the Lakers in that spot.Their horrible defence and their turnovers did.At some point it’s MWP with the ball and he s going to the basket and i m like he s going to do something stupid i m sure. And of course he gets an offensive foul while they re two points behind( i think). You can’t have Ariza shooting 12 open 3s and you can’t have Wall walking casually in the lane cause guess what this Wizards team is pretty good.Since Wall’s return they had the 5th best record in the NBA(i think they re 20-15) and if they didn’t have such a horrible start they d probably be playoff bound right now.The Lakers brought this on themselves for going with the big name signings without actually looking what they need. And don’t let me start about D’Antoni who managed to turn Pau Gasol an All-Star to a bench player because his 4 has to shoot 3s.Even if they make it to the playoffs they get OKC and that’s probably a sweep

What? I thought this was a troll post, I saw that they were up by like 17, so I assumed they had won, but my god was I wrong, there are serious problems in LA, and they will continue even if they make the playoffs.

John Wall had 24/16/6 3 stls 1 TO. I think he had something to do with that loss. Just going out on a limb there.

Yes Wall and Ariza had everything to do with it.Wall got a career high in assists and Ariza had a career high in 3s and i think Seraphin had a pretty good game too

It’s amazing to think that the Wizards have found a way to reach 11th in the East, and 3rd in their division, although the playoffs is not really attainable with so few games left, it’s quite an accomplishment when you consider without wall they started the season 3-25. That’s horrendous. If they were at least able to go say 10-18 which is still very bad, they would be right in the playoff mix right now. A lot of teams are looking down on the Wizards and getting beat in the process. They are a lot better than their record would have you think. Wall and Beal when healthy are playing lights out, and their vets Martell Webster, Okafor, and Ariza play great every night, and whenever Nene joins the party they are very very dangerous. Although it sounds dumb and pointless to say, the Wizards are only 1 game out of 9th place, and although there is no such thing as moral victories it would be pretty nice to finish the first spot out of the playoffs given their historically bad start.

It is messed up but whenever players come back after injuries, it is not uncommon for them to lose the game. This was obviously a winnable game but it appears the chemistry was off.

Kobe is mostly to blame for the loss IMO.. Poor/lazy defense off of the ball against Ariza/Temple and offensively, everything was hero ball.

Games like this, I can’t stand watching Kobe play. Move the ball and do something besides isolate and take fadeaways. That sh*t hurts the team. He took every shot down the stretch and wouldn’t trust his teammates. Smh.

Ever since starting 4-28, this Wizards have been 21-15, with Wall playing in all but one of those games.

This Wizards team is playing really hard, and although teams go into Washington expecting one of the 5 worst teams in the league, what they’re doing is impressive, if Wall and Beal continue to grow, they can be very, very dangerous in the future.
