TallmanNYCParticipantI suppose other folks know this, but one take away from seeing him in person the other day is that he is short. He looked to be a solid inch and maybe two shorter than DWill. I was surprised at the size difference.
Oh, but he threw down a nasty dunk in the fourth quarter.

ilike.panochasParticipantGordon’s combine measurements were 6’2 w/o shoe, 6’3.25 w/ shoe. He can look shorter because of his stocky built at 220lbs.

Chilbert arenasParticipantHe used to come into the restaurant my girlfriend was working at in LA all the time and he isn’t very tall but he takes up a lot of space, very wide shoulders and a big a$s head

MalcolmxParticipantI agree his build makes him look shorter. Although 6’2 isn’t all that tall he does have huge hands though and a long wingspan.

FastAndFuriousParticipantHeight don’t mean a thing when you got game!

GlenTaylorSucksParticipant…you don’t use your head (physically) to play basketball. Height doesn’t matter- like the commenters said. Wingspan, reach, vertical, build, positioning, b-ball IQ, and hustle matter more. That’s why guys like Charles Barkley, Kevin Love (there’s no way in hell he’s 6’10”, he’s probably more like 6’7″), Avery Bradley, so on and so forth, can succeed in the NBA.

GronounoursParticipantOf course height matters, a lot. Many other factors matter too, though, nobody would say the contrary.

ilike.panochasParticipantNo one in this thread said Gordon has no game, or he’s too short to play SG, the original poster was simply implying that he looks shorter than he’s listed height. WE ALL KNOW Gordon can ball.

IndianaBasketballParticipantYea, it’s Gordon’s stocky build. He wasn’t as stocky back in high school. He was a lot leaner, so he looked taller. He’s actually slightly taller and a lot longer than D-Will though.
Russell Westbrook is only like .25 taller than Gordon and his arms are 1.25 shorter, but he looks a lot taller. It’s because his lean body build.

Mr. 19134ParticipantI have no doubts in my mind that’d I’d of been playing D-1 ball, with a real chance of playing in the NBA if I was as tall as Gordon. I only got up to 5’10 and even tho I’m a nature passer and playmaker, I played a lot of forward in college because of my leaping ability, and pension for being physical and great at rebounding. I like Westbrook because he was around my height and hit a crazy growth spurt as a SR in high school letting him grow to 6’3′. Man I wish that was me because I would of really been able to make the most out of it.

MalcolmxParticipantSpeaking on Russ Westbrook. I don’t think he is still the height he was measured at during the combine. Stephen A smith said he stood next to Russ and thought to himself that he is 6’4. Stephen A Smith is 6’1. Also when the Celtics played against the Thunder the other day. Russ had a good height difference over Avery Bradley but combine measurement say they are only like a quarter inch apart. So this makes me think he has grown since being drafted.

Mr. 19134ParticipantThis is possible because one of the main reasons the Thunder drafted him so high was because his growth plates weren’t closed, and despite already being a freakish athlete, he was obviously still growing into his body and not done developing so his potential was scary.
On that note, Mo Harkless’ isn’t done growing either and I think his potential along with his crazy motor and athleticism is scary too.

MalcolmxParticipantYeah Mo Harkelss is very scary and may end up sort of Rudy Gayish if you ask me. And I truly believe westbrook did grow. Most say he is 6’4.5 – 6’5 in sneakers. He looks taller then almost even PG when I watch them on tv. Avery Bradley came in at 6’2 barefoot which put him at 6’3 in shoes and westbrook clearly was taller the other night.

IndianaBasketballParticipantD. Wade is 6′ 4.75″ in shoes. He looks almost an inch taller than Westbrook in my opinion.
I’d give Westbrook 6′ 3.75″ – 6′ 4″ in shoes.
