In an article on yahoo sports, I read kobe’s exact words in regards to his injury (involving d.jones). kobe said that jones, “threw his hip and lower body into mine on the shot. That’s a foul with 100 percent certainty. Dirty and dangerous play. Doesn’t belong in the game.”

I find this embarrassing to the game of basketball as kobe truly is whining. Jones defended the play well. Not to mention, a couple years ago, the league changed the rules to where shooters cannot kick out. Kobe kicked out and it should be a foul on him. I am sick of Kobe always exaggerating something little or always whining on the court. LASTLY… Go to youtube. Search: elbow a n*gga kobe. Watch that video. Kobe is one of the last people in the nba to call someone else dirty.

When you pull up for 349 jumpers per game someone is bound to get caught under you at one stage.

Listen the play was dirty you can say kobe is whining that fine, if you have ever played basketball you would know you dont walk into shooters in air period, you contest by jumping not walking underneath while in air. Say what you want about kobe whining or being dirty in his own right, the fact is the play was dirty

I play ball, that wasnt a dirty play at all. It was an unfortunate play but it wasnt dirty. The game is on the line, he contested the shot by crowding Kobe and putting his hand in his face. Kobe came down on DJ’s foot but people cant look at at that tape and say DJones put his foot there intentionally so Kobe could come down on it. I cant believe people are even giving this guy a hard time for making a great contest on a potential game winning shot. As I said, it’s unfortunate that Kobe got hurt, but there was no intent in that play. I can see if DJ was looking at the ground sticking his foot out, but this has nothing to do with 2009.

kick out as it was a fade away. Jones was in his crutch while he was in the air. To me thats a foul. If it was a straight pull up maaaaybe but how you get under a guy sideways on a fade away cleanly ?I thought that was a foul serioursly though.

jalen rose who admitted his wrong doing of the same foul he committed way back when and bruce bowen considered the play dirty but non malicious.

i play guys close all the time. that was a dirty play and players should be aware of where they are landing, but i don’t think it was on purpose.

It’s hard not to have your leg kicked out when you’re fading away….

I hated when guys did this to Dirk and I bet people are okay with it because its Kobe. If this was a lovable good guy like Dirk there would be outrage and there’s evidence for that because when Dirk complained about, there was outrage. Just because you aren’t attempting to hurt a guy doesn’t mean its not dirty. Not giving someone all ready fading back room the land is dirty, whether its legal or not, and on top of that its not legal. Its like a chop block or beaning a guy with a baseball, it in it self is dirty, which is okay but call it like it is.

When did scooting yourself up underneath a shooter and not giving him space to land become good defense?

I won’t say Jones tried to hurt him, but he knew what he was doing. When you do stuff like this, guys get hurt.

Ppl must really hate Kobe to say this isn’t at least a foul.

It was actually good defense, but it did end up bad. Jones got his hands up in his face trying not to jump (that is how you defend a jumpshot) but Kobe was fading/drifting out of bounds and ended up on jones heel.

There is no reason for the nba to make this statment. It doest change anything. So why do it?

Im a huge Kobe fan, but he needs to quit whining about this. There is nothing he can do to change what happened. Its part of the game of basketball, get over it.
