    In most loses after the Pacer woeful start to the season, it has been due to poor bench production. Yet again we see that when Indiana put in there bench that games tend to slip away, then the starters fight back, but continue to fall short (hopefully with George maturing he will get them over the hump in the future).

    Is it me or is the thing that Indiana is missing is an “irrational confidence” (6th man) to just come in and light it up?

    Spurs = Manu, OKC = Martin, Clips = Crawford, NYK = Smith and even Memphis has a guy like Bayless.

    Granger is back so maybe he could be the instant offense sixth man guy that they need.

    I think their starting lineup is fine and they just need Granger to do some shooting and scoring off the bench.

    They really could use one of those Jamal Crawford type guys. West and George are really nice players, but they would be much scarier in crunch time if they had a streaky guy.

    That’s why the Pacers have tried to acquire OJ Mayo and Jamal Crawford the last couple of seasons.

    Even though Vogul says he wants to get Granger in the starting lineup as soon as possible, I see no problem with bringing him off of the bench. He’ll be on the floor in crunch time regardless.

      I can still see Indiana in the off-seaon moving Granger for a defensive 2-guard and PF depth (If re-sign West and let Hansbrough walk). Then moving Stephenson into that role of scorer/playmaker/irrational guy off the bench.

    I really thought Gerald Green would take that next step into being one of those protypical 6th men. He’s shown flashes but overal let me down. Maybe, and this is a big maybe Orlando Johnson can step into that roll in the future.

    I wouldn’t move a proven scorer like Danny Granger for complementary players (at best). Granger looks like an ideal sixth man now, and is a guy who you can go to down the stretch.

    I think they could go after a backup defensive big with the MLE this offseason. Then they can pick up a role player shooter in the draft. This might be one of those drafts were the top is full of busts with most of the good players going late in the first round or even in the second round.

    I am a Memphis Grizzlies fan, but a guy the Pacers might want to look at is Tony Allen. The guy is a great defender, an energizer, and a great team leader. They could bring him off the bench to form a bench mob, plus he can guard all three perimeter positions. He can also give you seven or eight points, and a few rebounds a night.

    A Indy perimeter of Paul George, George Hill, Danny Granger, Lance Stephenson, Gerald Green, and Tony Allen would be pretty nice. Hill can run the point, Lance can create, Paul George can play both sides of the ball, Green can shoot 3’s, Granger can score and play the stretch four, and Tony Allen could provide lock down defense and provide energy.

    But, I am really hoping that Tony Allen resigns with the Grizzlies. He makes our team go and gives us an identity.

      Just a bit of a dream scenario, would be trading Granger to a place that had late-lottery pick in order to draft Victor Oladipo. To have a good defensive player, with great potential as well would be awesome, not to mention he is a Hoosier. Of course grabbing a guy like that could be back-up PF as well would be nice.

    Wouldn’t let Stephenson play as their 6th man: in the starting line-up he has to play balanced basketball, of the bench he will chuck up shots.
