The new and imoproved Derrick Williams….

Alot of his recent success is becuz he’s been playing more at the power forward spot..And having 1 of the game’s best passers in Ricky Rubio to get you easy basket also helps….Plus playing with 1 of the nba’s better defenders in AK47 helps also….Williams needs to stop attempting all of those 3 pointers…..

Raising his trade value I assume. This will be an interesting summer for the Wolves. Another mid lotto pick, Derrick Williams value at a high, Petrovic free agency, and Love apparently not too happy with management. If your Khan, what do you do to improve this team?

This may seem nuts but I would let pekovic walk and trade Love. Hear me out though!

Pek is going to command a very large deal along the lines of McGees contract I’m sure. I like Pek alot but it is just so much money to give to a really solid player but not special. I don’t see him doing much more than getting 16 and 9. Those are good numbers especially in today’s game with the lack of centers. But they aren’t awesome and he also never gets steals or blocks.

Now with Love. I don’t think he is a centerpiece type of player and he also isn’t happy there. Trade him to Houston for something along the lines of Asik, Motiejunas/TJones, delfino for salaries, and a draft pick maybe? Haven’t put much thought into it just making it up as I go. They would get two good, young front court players in return, one of which has a cheap contract. They would get another vet in Delfino who can shoot threes. They also get a draft pick which helps them build or can be used as trade bait. Houston gets back an awesome robin to hardens batman. Loves combination of rebounding, outlet passing, and shooting the three is perfect for the uptempo offense. Also, it would be way more encouraging for Dwight to sign and stay there, giving them a 3 headed monster.

I know this doesn’t seem incredibly favorable for Minnesota. You get a few younger players to build together with Rubio who also fit his style of play better as well. You get more financial flexibility as well. You can sign a good free agent or maybe save it to be able to keep Rubio and potentially other young studs. You have a great defensive center who is more mobile than Pek and you also don’t have to worry about the injuries to both players or the whining from Love

I think Khan hopes Derrick Williams reaches his full potential. Then and only then would he entertain the idea of moving Love.

I laughed when coming into the draft Derrick Williams kept saying he’s a 3. He’s a 4 no questions asked. I disagreed with the pick at the time and I still do, but I give props when due. He is taking advantage of all the minutes available in ‘Sota and has been producing as of late. IMO Kevin Love is going to leave once his contract expires so keeping on to D-Will is probably in Minnesota’s best interest. He could develop into a pretty good starting PF if he reaches his full potential.

don’t be surprised if williams is the 4 of the future in minny. rubio is the centerpiece of the team, and love’s game doesn’t mesh well with rubio’s. the ball moves when rubio is on the court…the ball sticks when it gets into love’s hands. how many times would he get it beyond the arc, pump fake 5 times, not fool anyone, run the shot clock down to 4 seconds, then pass it to ridnour for a last-ditch heave?

might sound like i’m ragging on love, which i’m not trying to do. but he just isn’t an uptempo player, which they need. and while love is a good passer, he isn’t always a willing passer.

with his deal up, set to command a LOT of FA money, and him having expressed a desire to leave MN, i expect him to be traded once healthy.

He’s going to shine when he gets a real shot with a different team, until then he’ll be stuck behind Love (unless he’s injured).

Like Bradley Beal, people get way too high and way too low on players fast and too early in their careers as well.

As a Philly fan I would trade him straight up for our former #2 pick Evan Turner.

I still feel he will be a poor-mans Antwan Jamison, which is pretty good in my opinion. I can see him putting up 17-18ppg and 7-8rpg on a play-off team in the future.Best suited to a 3rd option or maybe even a second. A guy he should watch closely is Paul Millsap and maybe a bit of David West as they have similar build, however Williams is clearly more athletic.
