If you’re searching through the updated recruit rankings looking for Louisville signee Terry Rozier but cant seem to find him, don’t bother looking a second time.

Post-graduate players aren’t eligible for the ESPN rankings. And so while you’ll find guys like Rozier and others by searching through the ESPN database, you won’t find them by going through the ESPN 100 or even the position rankings.

While post-grads are excluded, we differentiate between them and fifth-year seniors. Post-graduates are prospects who have already graduated high school and elected to take another year to further develop athletically, academically or even socially. Fifth-year seniors, on the other hand, are prospects who reclassified at some point, essentially repeating a school year along the way, and thus have not yet earned their high school diplomas.

The underlying philosophy is that each prospect gets one chance — and only one chance — to make the ESPN 100. And once you’ve graduated, you’re no longer eligible.

With all that in mind, here’s a look at several players who could very well have made the top 100 if we did include post-graduates in the senior class rankings.

    Terry Rozier
    Hometown: Shaker Heights, Ohio
School: Hargrave Military Academy (Chatham, Va.)
    Signed with Louisville
We believe he’s the third-best point guard in the country, which would make him one of the top 25 prospects in the nation and a probable McDonald’s All-American. Unfortunately the post-grad distinction makes him ineligible for either distinction, so he’ll have to settle for being an immediate impact point guard for Rick Pitino who will get a chance to step right in and replace Peyton Siva.

    Davide De Pas
West Virginia-bound power forward Elijah Macon is one of the best post-grad players in the country.
    Elijah Macon
    Hometown: Columbus, Ohio
    School: Brewster Academy (Wolfeboro, N.H.)
    Signed with West Virginia
He finished his high school career as the No. 45 player and No. 12 power forward in the Class of 2012 ESPN 100. A year later, a deeper power forward class would actually push his positional ranking down a bit. But if he were eligible, he’d be another guy you’d likely see in the 2013 ESPN 100, especially given the level of improvement since the beginning of his post-graduate season.

    Zena Edosomwan
    Hometown: North Hollywood, Calif.
School: Northfield Mount Hermon (Northfield, Mass.)
    Committed to Harvard
The California native not only turned down scholarship offers from California, Texas, Washington, UCLA, USC and Wake Forest to commit to Harvard last year, but he even put off college altogether in order to make it possible, electing to do a post-graduate year at Northfield Mount Hermon before joining the Crimson. We have him slotted at the center position in 2013, where he’d be a likely top 100 prospect.

    Damonte Dodd
    Hometown: Centreville, Md.
School: Massanutten Military Academy (Woodstock, Va.)
    Signed with Maryland
Heading back to his home state of Maryland to play for the Terps, Dodd is another big man who would make a strong case for inclusion in this year’s ESPN 100. He’d be slotted right around the 12th spot of the best-available centers in 2013, and that would have him in strong contention for being one of the top 100 prospects. As it stands, he’ll give Mark Turgeon a talented local product to develop inside the paint.

    Donte Clarke
    Hometown: Charlotte, N.C.
School: Hargrave Military Academy (Chatham, Va.)
    Signed with Virginia Tech
The future Virginia Tech swingman would be slotted as the 18th-best small forward if he were eligible in the Class of 2013, which would put him right on the cusp of the top 100. That’s old news for Clarke, who finished as the No. 14 small forward in the 2012 class, which was good enough for No. 89 overall in last year’s ESPN 100.

    Greg McClinton
    Hometown: Winston-Salem, N.C.
School: Hargrave Military Academy (Chatham, Va.)
    Signed with Wake Forest
Clarke’s running mate on the Hargrave wing would be slotted just one spot behind him as the 19th-best small forward in the Class of 2013, which is similar to where he finished his high school career as the No. 17 small forward in the Class of 2012. In both cases, that would have likely left him just short of the top 100, although there is little denying the future Wake Forest forward’s long-term upside.

    Best of the Rest:
DeAndre Burnett (Massanutten Military Academy), Signed with Miami
Frank Mason (Massanutten Military Academy), Signed with Kansas
Ron Patterson (Brewster Academy), Signed with Syracuse
Kamall Richards (South Kent School), Signed with Xavier
Jevon Thomas (St. John’s NW Military), Committed to Kansas State
Trevor Thompson (St. John’s NW Military), Signed with Virginia Tech
Jerron Wilbut (St. John’s NW Military), Committed to Seton Hall

With the release of our updated basketball recruiting rankings, we’ve rated the top 100 seniors, top 60 juniors and top 25 sophomores in the nation to provide context on how the players in each class rank against one another.

But we’ve taken it one step further here, ranking the top 25 overall high school basketball prospects in the country regardless of class.

Ultimately, the strength of the senior class won out, with the top five players and 12 of the 25 hailing from the Class of 2013. But there’s plenty of talent on the horizon, with eight juniors, four sophomores and even a freshman making the overall top 25.

Dave Telep, Paul Biancardi, Reggie Rankin, Adam Finkelstein and Joel Francisco contributed to these rankings.

you’re welcome, I think it is dumb that they charge for half the stuff on their site. I only have it this year because I got it half price.
