AwardedBallerParticipantThis is probably gonna receive many negs but, I feel like MJ does not like LeBron.

DatboythereParticipantWhat makes you say that? all MJ does is compare their current status in b-ball aka comparing championships

Lebron’s HairlineParticipantSo Robert Horry>MJ, Kobe right? Get real
0- Posted on: Fri, 02/15/2013 - 7:47am #747801
DatboythereParticipantI sure ass hell wouldn’t say that but that is always a big consideration when people compare player’s legacies (me, myself not a big fan in using that as the end all be all when comparing players). Just saying that was MJ’s basis in picking Kobe over LeBron

FastAndFuriousParticipantJordan also chose Kwmbe Brown over Pau Gasol and Tyson Chandler!
LMAOOOOOO

BenchWarmerParticipantMJ should maybe look at finals MVPs instead of championships. I think that would be more.fair.

Lebron’s HairlineParticipantHe also chose Adam Morrison over Brandon Roy.

ZEOParticipantI guess me and Skip Bayless are the only ones who agree with Jordan lol

thricethefunParticipantTo me it sounds like MJ is scared of Lebron surpassing him as the GOAT.

FastAndFuriousParticipantHe is.
Kobe does the same thing, and I think the thing with Kobe is this:
Michael Jordan was the best to do it to most ppl, and when he retired he still was the top dog to ever do it, new talent came in(Shaq,Iverson,Kobe, etc) but there still was no clear cut guy that people thought could surpass Mike, until Kobe started winning his 4th and 5th ring, that’s when people thought Kobe might have a chance to surpass Mike, slim chance but a chance.
But the thing with Kobe is this, his legacy wont live as long as Mike’s did…why? Because Lebron is already passing him up, I think kobe thought he would be Mike pt2, he would retire and he would be the last best player to do it for a number of years then down the line somebody would put Kobe on the back burner, like Kobe did MJ, but soon as Kobe retires the NBA and fans around the world wont lose any sleep because Lebron has already passed him up in the eyes of many if not all.

BenchWarmerParticipantPeople actually think Kobe could surpass Jordan? I’m not one of those crazy MJ homers but Kobe has only two Finals MVPs and one regular season mvp… not exactly threatening

BasketballJunkie224Participantthe guy above me said it best….kobe is nice as shit but he isnt as good as jordan was….lebron is better right now and MJ knows that so he feels threatened.. i swear to god if mj took a polygraph test and was asked who was better lebron or kobe he would say lebron

BasketballJunkie224Participantyo F jordan hes a hater
0 - Posted on: Thu, 02/14/2013 - 3:12pm #747579
Purple-and-gold17Participanti dont think jordan needs to feel insecure…..i mean he was dominate in the league alot longer then James has and most likely ever will be…i mean we only been talking about James being the best in the league what one or two years….How much longer does he have? so to me i don’t understand why he would feel threatened….
Jordan just likes to throw the jab when ever someone is compaired to him…remember when Kobe was the best in the league and he said he kobe is somewhere in the top ten…not talking about greats but shooting guards..he throws these jabs every now and then…0 - Posted on: Thu, 02/14/2013 - 3:14pm #747584

FastAndFuriousParticipantNo, Lebron has been mentioned as the best player in the world longer than 1 or 2 years, more like 5 or 6 years….
Far as legacy goes Kobe and Jordan get the nod over James.
Far as evaluating them from a pure basketball standpoint, James might be better than both.

IndianaBasketballParticipant@AwardedBaller
That’s not true at all. MJ has had a relationship with LeBron since LeBron was in high school. When LeBron broke his wrist, it was Jordan who hooked LeBron up with Tim Grover to rehab the wrist.

As far as Jordan’s comments. He comes from a time where championships established your greatness, not regular season MVPs, All-Star appearances, etc. That’s how it was with him when Magic, Bird and Isiah were at the top. You needed rings to get that respect. And once you got one, when being compared amongst that group, it wasn’t enough.
Are people that much on LeBron’s nuts right now that Jordan can’t honestly pick the player he’d take?

BenchWarmerParticipantId like to point out at age 27 Lebron had 1 finals mvp and Kobe had 0
0- Posted on: Thu, 02/14/2013 - 5:09pm #747643

IndianaBasketballParticipantBy age 27, LeBron had two NBA Finals losses too.

Taylor Gang MikeParticipantI would choose Kobe too, no big deal. Its his choice
0 - Posted on: Thu, 02/14/2013 - 9:24pm #747730

ItsVictorOladipoParticipantWhat’s wrong with what MJ said? Kobe is the more successful player TO DATE. If Kobe and Lebron both retired tomorrow, who would rank higher on most people’s all-time lists? Kobe.
The fact that LBJ is 28 and is already one of the top 20 players all-time is ridiculously impressive. That being said he still hasn’t cracked the top 10 in my books, at least not yet.
0 - Posted on: Fri, 02/15/2013 - 2:56am #747755

A Lil EnglishParticipantWhat’s wrong with what he said in my opinion is that he doesn’t seem to factor in his opinion Lebron being A. 6 years younger. and B. Having a player like Shaq (in his prime) on his team for a number of years.
I would like to ask him how many rings he feels each player would have if they had swapped ages & teams. I think that’s a more fair question for him to answer if he’s going to strictly talk about rings.
0 - Posted on: Fri, 02/15/2013 - 3:24am #747758

RUDEBOY_Participant5 years from now, i wonder would Jordan say Kobe was a better player than him, if Kobe wins 3 more rings?
0 - Posted on: Fri, 02/15/2013 - 8:08am #747806

lalailaParticipantJordan absolutely looks afraid his crown isn’t untouchable and tries to make LeBron looks worse at the media..
and Jordan like Kobe on the other hand because everyone nows Kobe has so much MJ in him but still is kinda poor man’s MJ..
it’s like Shaq’s situation where he fights for his SUPERMAN nickname
