I just finished watching Notredame Vs. Villanova where Cooley had 17pts-17reb-3ast. (26pts-16rebs the next gamel)
I think this guy has a decent chance at getting drafted, he’s snatching 11.3 rebs (top 5 in the country) and leads the NCAA in offensive rebounds with under 5 a game. He has a very high IQ and knows how to use the backboard with array of floaters to overcome being 6’9 and lacking explosion. He is not someone who is going to be making mistakes and missing easy/ open shots.
    .
A team like the Timberwolves could grab him with the 59th pick and he would learn tons from playing with Kevin Love and Nikola Pecovic.
    Thoughts???
    .
    Cooley’s averaging 15pts 11rebs 1.5blks on 59FG%

I have 2 “plusses” right now and I will probably loose them after I say this….

—-I swear, I didn’t know DX had Jack Cooley going with the 59th going to the Timberwolves before I started this thread. GOD KILL ME IF I’m LYING———

But really I don’t see Cooley “making it.” I can see him making a team for a few years, but I don’t think he will have a long career or impact type career.

He’s been on my mock for a while now. He could play a similar role as Jon Brockman or Kevin Jones. He’s probably a little bigger and stronger than those two players, so I think that will work in his favor during workouts.

His chances of getting drafted are 50/50…..Scouts have 2 questions about him..Can he hit that mid-range shot? And can he defend quicker players out on the perimeter..But even if he doesnt get drafted,he has a lot of positives to add to any team…He’s willing to use his body to battle inside,he’s good rebounder and he can blocks shots….

I think he will be in the NBA at some point it could take him a year or to be on a team. A decent amount of players make the NBA after they gain experience and develop in europe or in the NBDL.

Not sure if i’d waste a pick on Jon Brockman’s clone

When half the 2nd round plays fewer than 20 career games, getting a guy who plays a few seasons and works hard every day isn’t a bad option at the end of the 2nd round.
