knicks rejected trade of #3 for atlanta’s #8 and #10 as reported on espn.

interesting, considering knicks got a late workout with garland tomorrow.  almost seems like they some internal conflict in front office on barrett.

think atlanta’s motivation makes total sense.  barrett is a nice fit with young core and there are many rumors they are taking claxton at 17 as future rim protector.

there are rumors that atlanta will now set sights on #4 pick with culver being the target.

    thoughts?

New York must be looking at Garland with view to swap 3. They would be stupid otherwise as teams want Barrett and they could trade for extra assets. If they take Garland or anyone other than Barrett or Morant straight up then they should have some firing to do, particularly as one of their few players worth keeping is a point guard (DSJ) that they traded KP away for. Taking Garland would have to be with view of moving him or DSJ. I don’t know what they could possibly be thinking otherwise, unless the tanking has started earlier than usual this year. Starting in June seems a bit much.

Having DSJ on your team is not a good enough reason to pass on Garland if he is highest on your board.   If Garland becomes an all star then no one will care

Could Claxton go higher than 17? He looks really good.

Why wouldn’t Boston take him at 14? They still have two more 1st rounders.

Garland will not be there at 8.
