mrwehbeParticipantAccording to sources, The New York Knicks and Utah Jazz are entertaining the idea of trading Iman Shumpert for Paul Millsap
http://espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachine/?tradeId=ax9et2r
the jazz could also include one of their two first round picks.
personally i’ll do this trade. millsap can play PF he can score inside and he’s a good rebounder and allow melo switch to his natural position SF.
and for all knicks fans that are reluctant in trading shumpert below an interesting article to read.

TyroberParticipantInteresting for both sides. Shumpert is a very solid young player. If the Jazz don’t plan on trying to resign Milsap next year then I think it could be a good deal for both sides. I think Milsap is quite underrated and worth more than Shumpert, but it just goes back to what the Jazz wants to do next year.

Lebron’s HairlineParticipantInteresting but Melo plays better as a small ball 4

Bird_YearsParticipantThe whole reason why Amare and Melo haven’t worked too well on the court together is because Melo doesn’t play well from the SF spot. Here’s a couple articles about this very issue:
http://espn.go.com/blog/truehoop/post/_/id/48375/memo-to-knicks-melo-is-a-power-forward
Carmelo should be getting as much time at the 4 as is possible. If you play him beside another 4 plus Chanlder the lane gets too clogged and Melo takes too many long twos
Just based upon that, NY shouldn’t do this trade

T-Dot-BallerParticipantWould be interesting to see a melo and millsap combo….looks like a good match

M-EazyParticipantWish the Knicks would just go head and dead the Shump movement rumors. He’s the only younging we can build around in the future.

HitsterParticipantI don’t get the Knicks wanting Millsap, they are playing Melo at PF, STAT needs minutes and Chandler will play big minutes plus they still have Novak, Sheed, Camby and Thomas to fill the minutes also. But Millsap would effectively be a rental so it could be worth it if it helps the title shot.

Chilbert arenasParticipantI like the idea of Milsap going to the Nets much more

r377Participantreport:
Sources tell the New York Daily News that the Nets are interested in trading for Paul Millsap.
GM Billy King, who is in the final year of his contract, appears desperate to get something done by the Feb. 21 deadline. He’s likely dangling a package that includes Kris Humphries and MarShon Brooks — the same offer the Hawks reportedly declined for Josh Smith. King is almost certainly going to need to come up with something more if he’s going to pry Millsap away from the Jazz. Although he’s a free agent at the end of the season Millsap has become a cornerstone and franchise favorite in Utah.0 - Posted on: Wed, 02/13/2013 - 2:23pm #747203

HitsterParticipantThe Jazz would not want Humphries on $12 million next year, they could keep Millsap for less probably but Brooks may interest them. Would Brooklyn consider moving Crash in a trade for Millsap and somehow get Marvin Williams as well. Utah get a good SF in Crash whilst Brooklyn get Millsap at PF and Williams to fill in for Crash. Another team would probably need to take Humphries to make this work or Utah would want Crash straight up for Millsap plus a balancer in the trade.
