There are set to be over 12 or so point guards drafted in the next draft and there are a least 6 good points and maybe 4 or 5 quality players. I will add the players most likely to retire in a few seasons and also adjust my list to not include them just to see how it would stand. I will also maybe add some of the rookies and ask people to tell me base on potential where they would rank.

Parker is too low and Billups age effects his position but the main thing is where will the new point guards fit. I tried to do this list fast so a few players did not get that much attention.

The main thing of this topic is where will the new Point guards fit in with the current group of point guard and this is not how good a player is but their trade value base on their age, skills, and long term potential. Sessions is a young point, has great size, can shoot it, can pass it, and I think he is a pretty decent defender. His value is higher than some of the older player because of that. The older players will soon be replaced. Billups could possibly play 5 more years but his last 3 years will be more back up than starting. I did move Parker up that was just a slip up like when I left Deron Williams off.

Where does Stephon Curry, Brandon Jenning, Rubio, Ty Lawson, and the other point guards in this draft fit?

Which point guards on this list do you see not being there in the next few years to make room for the new point guards? There is only so much room for these players.

Nash would not dispear like Billups did in big games. He may not be a defensive player and a faster pace is helpful to his game but he is a shot maker and a playmaker and brings that every game. Nash rarely has off games. He may have some games where his number or not up there but most games he gives you at least 12 and 8 regardless if you are going fast or slow pace. His age does make me want to drop him but he is like Stockton and he does not need athletecism to be effective and he never a good defender anyway so he could play 3 or 4 more year starting if he can get a decent backup.

You guys are not reading, I already explained why Chris Paul is where he is at the top. This is a trade value system not actually ranking of how good a player is. I am trying to gauge where the new point guards will be go in this ranking system. I am a fan of the New Orleans Hornets and I love Chris Paul as a player but he could possibly force a trade to another team and the Hornets may accept that request which something I do not see happening with Rose and the Bulls at this moment. The Hornets Organization is stupid and even though they are my team, Chris Paul may never win a ring there because they will not give him help. That is why for trade value he is number 2. I doubt Hornets are that stupid but hey the almost traded Chandler for some cap space.

Thank you Knickfreak you are the one person who finally got what I was trying to do. My ranking system as it is now I know is debateable but I had to put one in place to give the effect of what I was trying to ask. Everyone has their likes and dislike of players and some players well hard to gauge that were young.

It was gonna take me too long to add the ages to all the players but I believe this will be a huge issue as far as this draft goes because not only are there a lot of point guards in this draft, there are a lot point guard free agents and some that are possibly getting traded like Hinrich who is a starter on most teams and is entering his prime years.

I am not sure Bayless is a point guard in this league but I will add him. I was trying to stay away from adding combos. Also despite your opinions the main focus of this thread is to see where the new drafted point guards will fit in this group. There are players that can be debated all day long. I feel most of my order is on point. I was in a rush so i left off people because my focus was not all the point guards of today but of tomorrow and i wanted to hear people’s opinion on where would Jennings, Curry, Rubio, and the rest fit. Kidd even in his old age is a better point guard as far as playmaking then most of the newbie and until they show me that they have the potential to pass him, he is in front. DJ Augustine has not played enough to pass him yet but i am sure next year that will all change. I am still fine tuning my list as we speak but Sessions deserves to be where he is and I would have him higher but I has not watch enough games because of who he plays for to guage that much about him but he is young and his potential as a point guard is just up there.

as of right now no matter how much you like Chris Paul, Rose potential is above Paul’s and that is saying a lot. He is already on the same curves as for as success and he is has greater physical attributes. Paul is of course the better player and some is Deron Williams but if you had to trade to get one of this players and was looking long term, to me Rose would be the answer. Like i mentioned earlier my list is debatable but I am a fan o basketball and this is not something that I did not think a lot about when I made it the way I did. I did rush and left player off but the players that i put on there the ranking was correct in my mind. If you differ than hey you are entitled to your opinion but I know of a lot of GMs that will agree with me.

i was saying trade value and I believe he is rounding out to be better than all of the people you mentioned. He can put up Jason Kidd like assist numbers and he can stroke it. I just don’t know how good he is on D and he has good size at 6’3″. I am looking at long term. I know right now his overall number are not a match with those players but they are close to those players and he is young and had to even share time with Ridnour so his numbers could possibly the same as those player and he is younger which makes him had a higher value.

Westbrook has to many limits but his potential is off the charts. Ramon Sessions has the full package now but no one knows about him because he plays in Milwaukee where they have not been giving him consistent minutes. Sessions has the size of Deron Williams but maybe not as big but he can do everything the top 5 can do. I was thinking of moving Westbrook up but he lack some point guard skills so it was kinda hard to have him higher than those who actually have it.
