The NBA Sprite Slam Dunk contest is closing in, but with two more games in two different cities, Nuggets forward Kenneth Faried, who is part of the six-player field, said he’s not worried about preparation for that just yet.

“It’s not really a big issue right now,” Faried said. “I’m more worried about games than I am about dunks. That’s all I’m focused on. We’ve got these road games, that’s more important than my dunk contest. I want to win these road games, and I’ll get my focus on that when I get to All-Star.”

However, there has been talk he was planning a bowling ball dunk of some sort. Faried acknowledged that, but said “I thought about that, but I haven’t practiced it or anything. I really don’t know if I’m going to do it or not. I don’t want to end up injured from a dunk contest.”

As far as being included in the field, Faried said he’s grateful.

“I thought I might be chosen for it,” Faried said. “I wasn’t really a big deal, but I’m excited to showcase my jumping ability and my creativity.”

I hope they have a plan to put mats under the rim, so the bowling ball doesn’t demolish the floor on impact, lol

He could dunk a medicine ball instead.. it would be a little less destructive and just as impressive
