I spent some time and thought of a pretty good 3 team trade that would provide some cap relief for washington, point guard options for new york, and a player the blazers covet.

    Trade:
    Washington gets:
    8th pick (knicks)
    Travis Outlaw

    Portland gets:
    David Lee
    Darius Songalia

    Knicks get:
    Serio Rodriquez
    Mike James
    5th pick (wizards)
    24th pick(portland)

    Lineups:
    Washington:
    PG-Arenas/Flynn(8th)
    SG-Stevenson/Young
    SF-Butler/Outlaw
    PF-Jamison/McGuire/Blatche
    C-Haywood/McGee/Thomas

    Blazers:
    PG-Blake/Bayless
    SG-Roy/Fernandez
    SF-Batum/Webster
    PF-Aldridge/Lee
    C-Oden/Songalia/Pryzbila

    Knicks:
    PG-Rodriguez/Duhon/James
    SG-Hughes/Ellington(24th)
    SF-Chandler/Gallinari/QRich
    PF-Harrington/Hill(5th)
    C-Gortat(FA)/Jeffries

    THOUGHTS…?

I understand where you are coming from, but it seems like New York is getting screwed. Good ideas though.

I like the trade not just becaz I’m a Knicks fan and it would be great to get those players for Lee. For the Blazers i’m not sure paying Lee a decent amount of money and putting him on the bench works. As for Washington would be makes sense for them to cut salary maybe draft a power forward that plays some defense. Overall a very good trade and all 3 teams will be making big moves in the offseason.

David Lee is better than Jordan Hill!!! Mike James and Sergio Rodriquez are bench players and New York dont need them cuz they have Duhon and Robinson. They need starting point guard for future and not more bench players!!!

david lee can’t be traded on draft night coz he’s a rfa. ny is getting screwed, not much talent returning to their team. they’re giving up an all-star caliber power forward for garbage. does this trade even work under the cap? there’s like 10 mil going out of washington and they’re only taking back half of it.
