    http://www.hoopsworld.com/gay-finds-friends-and-freedom-with-raptors/

this is a pretty good read. i’m happy for gay that its easy for him to make the transition since he played his whole career in memphis.

its nice to see a player of his calibre happy to be on toronto and hopefully when it comes to resigning he can break toronto’s reputation of not being able go hold on to good players.

i love how he wants to take on the challenge of getting the raps to the playoffs. as of right now toronto is 7.5 games out from the 8th spot. they’d have to make a pretty good run to get in but after watching the last 2 games with gay in the lineup the raps are actually more fun to watch right now. they still have problems to work out on both ends of the court but i feel they’re slowing moving in the right direction (my ever so continuous optimism). they’re more free flowing and it really looked like they’re just having fun playing basketball. with calderon they became a half court team offensively that ended up running pick and rolls every time.

i guess all that’s left to see are the moves that could happen from now until the trade deadline. derozan and gay (so far) look like a pretty good combo. gay with 29 and derozan with 27 against miami? not bad fellas!!
its been awhile since toronto has had 2 players that can put up those kind of numbers in a game together.

i’d like to see bargnani and fields moved. in return the raps need a 3rd pg and a player who can score in the post, grab boards and protect the paint. if the raps want to win now they need that type of player. sure jonas could become that player but it’ll take a few years.

with no pick in next year’s weak draft and no reason to tank the only thing the raps should aim for at this point is to win!

ps i’m still sour that we didn’t draft drummond! haha!

I know that Drummond is ballin right now, but you still have terrence ross. I mean the guy can also be a pretty solid player it just happened that drummond had a terrible college career. But had he performed like this on college, he’s definitely a top 3 draft pick and no way that the raps could pick him up if thats the case

Yeah Terrence Ross I am completely fine with. Yeah Drummond rules, but Colangelo also thought Bargnani was the answer at PF.

Ross has elite shooter potential with elite leaping ability. I’m fine with how it turned out.

Ross probably has as much upside as Drummond

Let’s not get carried away bud, there may only be a handful of players in the last couple of drafts that have the upside of Andre Drummond. 19 year olds with Drummonds size don’t come along often let alone guys with his size and athletic ability.

Now that Gay is in the East on a team that likes to run, I’d love to see him play more PF

If the Raps throw Lowry, Ross, Demar, Rudy, and Amir Johnson and run on teams they are going to be impossible to stop in transition and impossible to stop from getting into transition as everybody can rise and fly.

Never thought of this. I would give it a try against rather slow teams for a start.
