there are 30 teams so i ranked 30 number one picks from the last 30 years. my criteria was how i believe the careers will be ranked when it is all done if they are still active.

Its crazy that Greg Oden is below Kwame Brown, I agree with you but its just sad. The dude would be top 10 on that list if is wasn’t for his knees. Bold putting D Rose ahead of AI, I disagree but D Rose has a while left

I would place Shaq 2nd..His achievements on the court,impact on the game and marquee value is only surpassed by Lebron….
People seem to forget how good Sampson was,injuries shorten this guy’s career,but yet he still made the Hall of Fame..
No way should Kyrie Irving should be ahead of Patrick Ewing,even if Irving continues to remain on his current pace..
Anthony Davis will be higher in a few years….
Howard might be a better defender than Chris Webber…But Webber was the better all around player….
For years i’ve been trying to figure out who was the better player Duncan or Olajuwon?

Am I the only one who thinks Duncan should be #1? 4 championships and the longest stretch of success by a player in years. Lebron is unlikely to match Duncan’s career accomplishments in terms of team success, and certainly success with the team that made the draft pick.

      He may be the best PF ever, but Shaq, Hakeem and LeBron are all still better and I don’t see how it’s even debatable. Who has Duncan above those two bigs in their overall rankings? Not many. And LeBron is going to go down as a top 5 player ever minimum, so yeah.

  Duncan is great and all but everyone knows Lebron will be viewed better in the long run. Even if he never wins another championship in my opinion.

Good list, I know you’re projecting but some of the younger guys are too high for my liking.
IMO I’d have Daugherty at least ahead of Larry Johnson and Glenn Robinson. People always seem to forget about Daugherty but he excelled during the most competitive era for centers ever. He made 5 All-Star games in his career compared to 2 for Johnson and Robinson.
Daugherty averaged 19 PPG, 9.5 RPG, 3.7 APG and had a 53.2 FG% for his career and in his two best seasons he had a PER of 22 and 23.
Robinson had career marks of 20.7 PPG, 6.1 RPG, 2.7 APG with a 45.9 FG% and highest seasons of PER were 20.1 and 19.7.
Larry Johnson had career averages of 16.2 PPG, 7.5 RPG and 3.3 APG with a 48.4 FG% and in his two best seasons had a PER or 19.8 and 18.9.

John Wall is way too high. I’m a fan of him but he’s nowhere near Chris Webber. Hell he isn’t even better then Glen Robinson yet.

whoa! thank you for the feedback everyone! kind of did this list not looking at stats in front of me but thought it would be interesting to see what others thought or for debate anyways. maybe i put wall to high but i think he will be a late blooming derrick rose. i like irving’s game and think he can go somewhere once he gets a teammate. i think derrick rose will maybe get a ring and at least get to the finals once like iverson. olajuwon, duncan, shaq and lebron will be close to neck and neck imo. webber and howard are neck and neck to. if i were to change anything after the feedback i guess daugherty i could move ahead of robinson and johnson. i might put sampson ahead of bogut but still don’t know. he should not be in the hall of fame imo and bogut isn’t done yet. and oden could be at the bottom. i feel sorry for him and really do not like olowokandi.

  I think you are underrating Glenn Robinson a good bit. He averaged over 20 ppg 8 times usually with a pretty good FG%. I mean his career averages are 20.7 6.1 2.7 on 45.9 FG% 34 3pt% 82 FT%. He was never a superstar but he was one of the better scorers in the game for awhile.

My thoughts: I would have shaq at 2, duncan 3, Hakeem 4….
Also I don’t think any other 6’0″ guard in history can lead that team in Phily to the finals so I would have AI at 5 ahead of Robinson…and I can’t see DRose getting ahead of AI..
Brand should be below Yao IMO and Sampson should be above Bogut for sure…
Wild Cards: Kyrie, Wall, and Davis could really work there way up cause all are loaded with potential…Wall really has the abilities to be the top PG on this list potentially.. His passing, defense, and triple double capabilities exceed the others…Davis has a lot of KG similarities and Kyrie’s scoring abilities are ridiculous

Tim Duncan- Lebron can argue for this spot in a few years but the best player ever at his position has got to be first right?
Shaq- Once again, LeBron can argue this in a few years but this guy is so accomplished and is the single most dominant player I have ever watched live (not an MJ NBA TV game or somethin’)
Hakeem- I put him just below Shaq but I think that is partly due to being 4 and 5 years old when he won his championships. Dude’s post moves were so crisp.
LeBron- You can make the case for him at number one but he wouldn’t have the post moves he has if it wasn’t for the guy above him: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yF0vQGFpHrs
Allen Iverson- Lifelong Sixers fan so its hard for me not to put this dude at number one. If Dirk is selected at number 8 instead of 9, AI might be challenging for the top spot with a few rings. But Larry Hughes was selected instead and the franchise has only had a handful of good years since then, most due to AI being the greatest competitor I’ve ever watched.
