The LA Clippers have offered Eric Bledsoe and Caron Butler for Kevin Garnett. Do you think Boston pulls the trigger on this one? http://www.cbssports.com/nba/blog/eye-on-basketball/21632329/report-clippers-trying-to-pry-kevin-garnett-from-the-celtics

They should at least consider it… if it’s all good with KG… since he’s got the not trade… Celtics need to rebuild and Clippers have as good a shot as any to win the title this year, KG’s heart would be nasty on the Clippers!

      Agreed.

I have a hard time imagining that KG ok’s the trade though. KG’s already got his ring so it’s not about one last go at the title. It’s impossible for me to say what KG would want though.

Is probably a long-shot to happen at best. As much as the Clippers like KG, I’m betting that they’re going to hold on to Bledsoe. Why?

      Because of Chris Paul.

Paul hasn’t signed to the Clippers long-term yet, and they’re going to be hesitant to let go of Bledsoe because if the Clippers get bounced early in the playoffs, a frustrated CP3 could bolt somewhere else. Bledsoe is their back-up plan. The Clippers wouldn’t want to give up a talented young PG just yet until their star re-signs.

    What about this trade?

    http://espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=a9oboo5

I think it gives the Celtic a bright PG in Bledsoe and a bigman in DeAndre Jordan to fill in big man needs (since Sullinger went down)

    Clippers:

    Garnett-Turiaf-Hollins
    Griffin-Odom
    Butler-Hill-Barnes
    Crawford-Green-Bradley
    Paul-Billups-Bradley

    Celtics (ideally):

    Jordan-Melo
    Sullinger-Bass-Wilcox
    Pierce-green
    Lee-Terry-Barbosa
    Rondo-Bledsoe-Barbosa

So Deandre is goin to the bench?? haha i dont think so. I wouldnt do it on either side.. Why mess with Deandres development and Deandre and Blake are good friends. But Celtics could, but when Rondo comes back next year, what will they do with Bledsoe

I think DeAndre would be a starter in Boston. I think if the Clippers want KG then they’ll have to give someone up and I think the Celtics would like to have a defensive player like Jordan. Bledsoe can back up Rondo or slide him to the two. Aren’t the Celtics open to trading Terry? Which means more minutes at SG. I think the message is clear…. The Celtics want to rebuild. And the best way is to acquire assets when they trade their veterans.

KG would only help the development of the Clippers front court… and imagine you are playing against the Celtics next year with a back court defense of Rondo, Bledsoe, and Bradley… if anyone could make it work it’s Doc Rivers…

It is a good trade for the clippers if chris paul stays. Having rondo and bledsoe on the same team would wreck havoc on other teams, but they are both similar players who both struggle to shoot which could be a liability as bledsoe and paul struggle to play with each other. and caron butler doesnt really help the celtics unless they are trading paul pierce for another younger player and going into a complete rebuilding mode.

OKC would also, all the deal needs is someone to take Kendric Perkins contract

eric bledsoe and caron butler for kg is not a good trade because they would not have a big man, who could score downlow (besies sullinger but he inj.) plus Caron is on the down side of his career and wouldn’t mesh well Paul Pierce. This will not help the celtics, but will be a win for the clippers

Well if this is true, I see no way Boston says no, especially with Bledsoe putting up 23, 10 and 7 in Boston right now. But If I’m the Clippers I’d rather want Paul Pierce, imagine a lineup of CP3, Crawford, Pierce, Griffin, and Jordan, that’s really good, but Garnett would definitely help the Clippers, maybe they think they need an emotional leader and another big body down low to sure up their defense.

KG would be great on the Clips, allowing Deandre Jordan to play a more limited role and cover up some of his defiencies. I just can’t see Bledsoe going to the C’s though. Bledsoe is going to get paid soon, and needs to have starting job sooner than later. Unless Boston is planning on moving Rondo soon, I don’t see a good fit. Boston could still get Cousins out of this though. http://espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=ccl73vl

Who knows what other moves Boston would do… They are shopping Greg Oden though… but I don’t see SAC trading Cousins for Bledsoe…

You’re right. Cousins is definitely a bigger game changer than Bledsoe so the Kings would be the loser if this trade happened. I just think Boston would be trapped if they had Rondo, Bradley and Bledsoe on the same roster. Especially when Bradley’s and Bledsoe’s are ready to be resigned.

I think if Bledsoe develops how Ainge hopes he will they will ship Rondo, not saying Bledsoe is anywhere near the player Rondo is, but it makes sense, Ainge has been trying to ship Rondo for years, and if Bledsoe develops, Rondo is great trade bait, for the Celtics to get a good player to compliment Bledsoe or get some draft picks or whatever. they decide to do.

It’s obvious he’s trying to rebuild.

Not sound like a good trade. All three of those guys in the backcourt. Naw. Dreaming of Celtic players to come help your teams? They at least have to give up Jordan too. Be serious, keep dreaming.

If the Celtics do get Bledsoe, will they try to form a trade involving Rondo and Cousins? I don’t see why they shouldn’t, assuming they’re trying to ship Rondo out

I like the idea but if Boston continues to ship out all of their veterans, who will be there to keep cousins in check? I know Doc will help but a guy like KG mentoring him would pay dividends(if he is still there).

    I like this trade…

If this happens Rondo or Bledsoe gives the Celtics plenty of trade value as I don’t see them keeping both…

If the C’s want to rebuild all together, Rondo could bring in several young players and possibly 2 or more first round picks…

If they decide to keep Rondo, Bledsoe and draft picks could bring in a great post player…with Rondo’s contract and unselfish style of play they could also lure any big time free agents there as well i’m sure…

KG is still so good and i think the clips definitely have a good shot at the title, especially if Billups comes back healthy to run backup PG when paul sits..I guess Paul needs to get healthy as well, but they would have a ridiculous front line and Barnes, Hill, and Odom could fill in for Caron..

Either way Clips have too many good bench players and Celtics don’t look at all like they can win the title this year so both teams should look to trade..

I HATE this trade from the perspective of the celtics. If you’re going to give up Garnett, at least get something substantial in return. I dont think Bledsoe is going to provide any benefit to the celtics. At best, hes a back up PG, not a starter. They can get more value for Garnett. For the clippers, its a great move as KG can provide an immediate impact.
I know a lot of ppl are high on bledsoe, but I dont see it. The clippers are now 2-6 with bledsoe as the starter.

Bledsoe had 23pts,10ast,7boards,2stls,1block….against who tonight? The Celtics…..

I understand the Clippers record isn’t the best with Bledsoe starting, but the guy’s talent is crazy, he has tons of potential, the route Ainge is going is smart, Garnett is old and on his way out, Bledsoe is one of the hottest players in the league teams are trying to aquire, if Bledsoe doesn’t pan out, Ainge still has Rondo, and Bledsoe still can be shipped again for something valuable.

Bledsoe is a defensive hound already and his PG skills are getting better and better the more he learns under CP3, Bledsoe matter of fact reminds me of Rondo somewhat just more athletic, If anything I’d say this trade would be more silly on Clippers part, just for the simple fact if they ship Bledsoe they have to hope and wish CP3 signs with them this summer, because if he doesn’t the Clippers are out of luck big time. The Celtics aren’t really risking much, as I said Garnett probably has a year left, why not take a gamble on a 23 year old and hope he pans out?
